I purchased two of these crates for two rescue dogs that we were blessed to adopt. We adopted one dog two months before the other and I purchased this crate after reading all the positive reviews. The crate arrived quickly and was a breeze to put together with very clear instructions. They describe it as portable and I guess you could call it that because it does fold up nicely, but it is heavy! It is very well made, sturdy and has built in clips that make it very easy to put up and take down. My 60 lb German Shepherd/Lab mix has plenty of room to stand as well as lay out flat. The 42" crate is the perfect size for her. I have a hard time imagining a dog figuring out a way to open the door by themselves as one reviewer suggested. The door is secured with a latch at the top and another at the bottom. It feels very secure. Was so happy with the first crate that I purchased another when we adopted another dog two months later. Again the crate arrived quickly and was a breeze to put together. Because this dog needed a covered crate, I also purchased a Precision Pet Indoor/Outdoor Crate Cover. GREAT cover! Fits the crate like a glove and is really good quality. I paid just under $69 for each crate and I've seen them in stores for twice that. Great crate, great price. The only improvement that I could make on this crate is that I wish the door was adjustable so you could change the swing to the other side. Just happens that with the location of both crates in my home, it would be more convenient if the door swung left to right. Not a huge deal, just would be nice. I had no need to install the partition because both my dogs are adults.

I love this kennel! We just brought home a 9 week old puppy who’s used to have a metal playpen in the living room of the breeders house. Our puppy is very conferable in it and he can see everything the living room, where he stays during the day if we don’t have him with us. He likes being able to see our adult shepherd and he gets plenty of light. The cage is built strong, easy to setup. The door is easy to open with latches at the top and bottom so there no escaping! I love the plastic pan at the bottom of the cage. It’s conferable for the dog to lay on and if your pup has an accident, it won’t be on your floors! It’s easy to clean up any messes. I originally had bought the largest size because I was at going to use it for our two ducks to sleep in during the night, in our barn. During the day the ducks have free run on the farm but in the evening we need to secure them up because of predators. This kennel would have been perfect size for them but then we got a puppy. So the ducks will continue to stay in a horse stall at night, for now. Our puppy is a Cardigan Welsh Corgi but our very large German Shepard will go in it and lay down when the puppy isn’t in it. Why, don’t know, just because he can. :p I highly recommend this kennel.

Got a puppy and needed a crate to stop the peeing everywhere thing. I used the divider while he was a tiny thing, put his bed in and BOOM- he understood the assignment. As he got bigger, I moved the divider more and more until he no longer needed it. Basically I don't have to buy a new crate and waste money. I got a crate that grows along with your pup! Its amazing! Perfect for trips! Just fold it down and throw it in the trunk. A bit heavy so I leave the tossing in trunk bit to my hubby. Believe it or not, he has a hard time getting it unfolded and then setting it back up... while I take 5 seconds without any issues. I will say it is a snug fit when assembling it, so watch your fingys! I realize that is just common sense but, some need a reminder ;] Also... I may and or may not have gotten another puppy... so... guess who May or May Not need another one of these fabulous crates...? Me..the answer is me 😂 Look, it isn't the best out there I'm sure the brand name ones they over price and sell at the petstores are very nice... but for someone who does not care about brands, this does the job, my dog loves it, I love it, and it's affordable! If you need a crate for a pup getting ready for crate training this is an amazing deal and an amazing product! I thought this a little over a year ago now and it's still perfect.

This crate is exactly what I had been looking for. I had a metal crate that broke down into several pieces, was hard to keep up with each piece and cumbersome to put together and take down. I needed something that was easy to travel with, yet would keep my dog safely crated no matter where we at, like disc dog competitions! I bought a soft, folding dog crate, but found that it was easy for a smart border collie to escape from. Yes, it was light and easy to carry, but couldn't risk losing my precious canine! This Midwest Life Stages Folding Metal Dog Crate is just what I needed. It is so simple to open and fold back down again! It folds flat so it is easy to store in any vehicle. The best thing is that my smart border collie can't escape from it! Be sure to get the right size for your canine to have plenty of room to lay down, and you will have to buy a cushion because it doesn't come with one. The only drawback is that because my dog is medium sized, I needed a fairly large crate, and therefore, it is rather heavy. It does come with handles to make it easier to carry, but you need to be pretty strong to carry it very far. I still need a hand-dolly to carry it any distance on my own. I had bought a puppy training cage for my dog and my moms dog when we got them and it was a disaster. They were able to move the cage around and eventually learned to climb out of it and destroyed various items in are home. So I told my husband I wanted something big for them and sturdy. He picked this and we bought two cages. We bought bigger size one even though they are cavapoos and only 6 months old. Its big enough for a bed, toys and wee wee pad. My dog still pees in his wee wee pad but he will wait until out of the cage to poop. I love this product because I feel more at ease when leaving him at home by himself. He can get out of it and destroy anything in the house. Its also easy to clean I just slide the bottom part out vacuum it and then throw it in my shower to rinse it out and then slide it back in. I would Definitely recommend going on the bigger size for puppy to give them enough space between the wee pad and bed. My dog doesn't like messes around him while sleeping so we always have to keep his cage clean but if he has to pee he feels comfortable walking over the wee wee pad and doing it since there is plenty of space.

So, I got a 9 month old mix breed puppy. A friend let me borrow a pen for her, what a disaster that turned out to be. While she never got out it her behavior was not good at all while in it. So I purchased this large crate for her. What a difference!!! Her behavior has improved, getting her to enter on her own has been fantastic and she does really well overnight in it. Love that the is a plastic tray in the bottom, just in case there is an accident. It has been easy to wipe down, when I felt the need to do so. My girl is 26 pounds cnd now 10 months old. Looking forward to many years of use. Construction is very well done, really like the double locking mechanisms. I did not use the divider but attached it to the top with zip ties for any possible future use.

Really happy I bought it, and my 9 weeks old golden seems to love it too. It's easy to fold and unfold, can store it practically anywhere, very sturdy build when unfolded, doesn't wiggle or anything, plastice tray easy to remove and clean, it's not very heavy to carry and there are plastic rollers under the crate to make it easy to roll.

This is a heavy well built crate. The locks are easy to use but keeps our dog safely inside. It was very easy to assemble.
