The light does come on during a power out and I needed it to charge my cell phone. For this and all the different light colors you can choose from make this lamp well worth the money!

High pitched sound coming from lamp
Bought this for my daughter's dorm. Getting ready for move-in we plugged it in and noticed a very high pitch sound coming from the lamp. Tried different light bulbs and the sound persisted. Since the 30 day return/replace expired I am now stuck with a $50 broken lamp. Needless to say I am not happy.

I love the lamp angel. It is awesome, it is a light a multi colored night light and if that wasn't enough it charges your phone. I love it!!!!

Smelled like burning plastic as soon as we plugged it in
Smelled like burning plastic as soon as we plugged it in, I just re-boxed it and sent it back after that. Not worth burning our house down over a cheap lamp. Buyer beware!

I've never had such an easy transition during an outage
I'm so impressed. These lamps are a huge relief in a power outage. I have two kids, one still in diapers and I live on the water. We lose power a few times a year. Changing a diaper in the dark can be a nightmare. I have two of these lamps and I plan to buy two more. I want one in the bathroom and one for the kitchen. I was so impressed! The lights went out and the lamps immediately came on. I didn't have to fumble for a flash light or lite a single candle. The kids were not afraid of the storm. They both have lamps in their rooms. I've never had such an easy transition during an outage. Thank you for making available such a great product. Its a true problem solver... A light in the dark. Thanks again.

Clever little lamp
The LampAngel is a clever addition to a child’s bedroom or college dorm. The colorful base lights are charming and provide ample light when in the “power-out” mode. The USB port for charging is a handy addition. The small remote control offers a variety of colors and lighting modes which create a nice ambient light.Some things to note: The glass ball on the finial popped off easily but was glued back as easily. Lamp harp was a bit tight and hard for my old hands but once it was on it fit nicely. It was nice that a light bulb was included in the package but it did not work. I put an incandescent bulb in and it worked fine. I would have preferred a whiter shade, the color of this shade is too yellow when the light is on and doesn’t blend with all of the LED light colors. One other thing I noticed while testing this product was that there is a slight hum or buzz when the LED lights are in other than static modes. Not sure if this is normal but I thought it worth noting.All in all I liked this little lamp and my granddaughters are delighted to have it in their newly decorated bedroom. I hope they don’t lose the little remote. I am part of an Amazon Review Club and was provided a free sample of this item in exchange for my honest review.
