Works great, but I recommend using your own screws
Having the bicycles stored up on the ceiling is awesome, and this pulley system allows for easily raising and lowering them. The screws it comes with are complete garbage and should be thrown straight into the trash. I mean do you really want your bicycle to come crashing down on your car, or your head? I tried using a couple of them and just screwing into a regular 2x4 the heads sheered off before they even got to the metal bracket. The screws are shockingly weak. I didn't know screws could be made out of such soft metal... In any case installation wasn't terribly difficult, but working on the ceiling is never "easy" per se, at least it's not comfortable. Any garage ceiling tall enough to have your bike mounted in this vertical orientation is going to be a high ceiling so working on a tall A frame ladder drilling and screwing isn't awesome, but a basic DIYer can certainly do it. In our case the trusses above the ceiling were oriented win the same direction that I wanted to mount the bike, so I couldn't just use the included metal brackets directly into the trusses since I was mounting the bike between trusses just below open drywall. So I used two 2x4 beams as cross braces to mount into the trusses above on either side, then I screwed the bike hoist brackets onto those 2x4s and that's all it took. Mounting them was easy (once I used real screws I had to provide myself), but figuring out exactly where to mount them to have the bike hang right where I wanted it took a lot more time and measuring. Overall I highly recommend these bike hoists and I think they're a great value for their price. Oh and also the rope is kind of on the weak side, so maybe in a couple years if start to fray I'll have to replace them with an actual sturdy rope. So for this purchase you're basically buying two brackets and pulleys for the bike, and the screws they come with shouldn't be used, and the rope is questionable long term.

Very handy
Such a good thing. It does take a bit to install but easy to use once installed and clears up floor space.

Works great but one suggestion
I really like this unit. We bought two of them. One of them is being used to hoist an E-Bike, which is near the weight limit for this hoist (75lbs I believe) and it works flawlessly. There is a brake built into one of the pulleys to prevent accidentally dropping the bike. It is difficult to release the brake if there is not enough clearance to pull the rope to a sufficient distance away from the bike and trigger the release. I ended up bypassing the brake because of this. As with most pulley systems it is more difficult to raise than lower, meaning that even though it takes moderate force to raise, it can be held in place or lowered with very little force. Very nice! I mounted on a 1"x8" board and the screwed the board to my ceiling. This the method is the best for easy mounting and strength.

Works as advertised
They work great! I mounted mine on the truss in my shed so it took some extra drilling. The bolts that hold the pulleys on stick out pretty far so I had to make room to cope (this wonât be a problem if youâre mounting on a garage ceiling or board that is as wide as the mounting bracket).Make sure to carefully measure the distance between the handlebars and the seat and accurately determine where the hooks will hang. If the hooks are at a bad angle they wonât hold onto the seat well. This is also explained in the instructions.

Great ceiling mount for standard bicycles
Economic, functional, and easy to install though the directions offer guidance but not very good step by step instruction. Most will need to mount on a wood panel although, as per the directions, you can use three wood screws (provided) to mount each bracket if you're lucky enough to have the studs/beams run along where you want to place both brackets. I wasn't that lucky. I used a 5' 1x4 that crossed three beam studs. I painted boards first and screwed brackets onto the panel even before I mounted to the ceiling. It made it all much faster to install. Overall it took about 3-4 hours from start to finish but I'm pleased with the results. I can now fit my compact car in the garage. If they fail in the next 6 months I'll update.Update: Theyâre still up and working great. Itâs been over six month.

Cheap set up!
Pictures donât accurately describe how to install the rope. The locking mechanism shreds the rope. The hooks kept coming off the seat. Not worth the risk for my $5,000 bike!

Great deal and great product
Easy to put up and the directions are easy to follow. The only thing is I'm worried if the rope is durable
