Too Basic
This book does not go in depth at all on any subject. You can tell by how small the bibliography is that it really wasn't well researched. I have heard the same criticism of her book on donkeys. But since mule books aren't that common, I'm glad to have it. If you want the best book available on longears, I recommend "Training Mules and Donkeys" by Meredith Hodges. She is a true expert of many years who has used mules and donkeys in every equine discipline.

This book was written for someone who has never been ...
This book was written for someone who has never been around horses or mules at all in their life. There is not much information for a first time mule owner that wouldn't apply to horses as well. I was expecting special feeding instructions, techniques, and descriptions of common behaviors and quirks. This book was more about the basic care needs that any livestock animal would require.

Great Book but Going GAS
City boy thinking about buying a mule for work on my property. This was great book about mules and gives novices an idea of what you are in for. After reading this I think I'll buy a gasoline powered mule. The book was cheaper than buying a real mule and making a mistake. Great book though.

A wannabe's take on a great book!
This is a great beginner's book on mules, with lots of info other books just don't give, including personalities that come out with each animal (why should they be different, after all?) and personal experiences of a novice mule owner. A must-have for anyone considering owning one of these great and under-appreciated equines.

Great book for first time mule owners!
I bought my first mule - this book helped me understand her, take care of her, train her (I love the parts that describe their abilities) and we have become BEST trail buddies. If you don't have a mule, this book will make you want one!

The Book of Mules/Review
This was a good buy and it had many additional facts and ideas that fit in well with the other mule books I have purchased.. I would highly suggest you read this book before purchasing a mule.

Lovely cover but disappointing content
Ordered this book for my daughter who has a mule obsession but on looking through it myself decided not to give it. Very few pictures a lot of name dropping and dates coupled with abbreviations for society's that are not relevant to a uk resident. Similar content to the book of miniature horses which I also ordered and returned at same time as chapter for chapter a lot of repeated information.

A good book
This is a good book for the beginner or intermediate mule owner. Oddly, the pages of the 124 page book are very thick, making it look like it has more content that it actually does. Despite that, the text and pictures are of exceptional quality.
