Brilliant easy to use
Love this . I bought this for my granddaughter to learn SpanishI think it’s the best purchase I have made this yearThe Spanish is really good, great selection of songs, stories, learning words, letters, numbers etcBeing operated by batteries it means it can be taken anywhereOnly suggestion I could offer it’s a bit more disc with small basic conversations between charactersAnd may be a carrier for the player and discs I bought all the selection and the bag does not fit them allBut overall great product

There are better screen free devices...
I primarily bought this for foreign language use, but my child can easily change the language, so that use is out. Also, I think this might be more appropriate for a 2-year-old. It is quite simple, and my 3.5-year-old isn’t into it anymore. There is a very bright LED light that you cannot disable that is problematic if your child uses it in the dark. A better screen free devise is the Lunii.

Excellent toy for a trilingual family!
I bought this for my 15 months old son as we are a trilingual family and this is a perfect screen free learning toy for my boy. It’s easy to operate even for a young toddler. He enjoys listening to the sounds and putting discs on. He even enjoys pressing the buttons for the green light to shine!

great portable learning device
The media could not be loaded. This is an educational audio music player for kids it’s lightweight and contains lots of different variety of discs of activities to choose from. From alphabets to colours to shapes to animals to nursery rhymes, A great variety. The main disk player requires 3 AA batteries which are not included. I would have expected such an expensive toy to have at least included some batteries. The device comes with instructions however it’s very straightforward and very easy to use my three-year-old has no problem using this at all. The great thing about this device is that it has a different languages to choose from so once your child is finished learning all these words and numbers in English if you wish you can move on to teaching them in different languages such as French German Dutch Chinese Italian Portuguese and Spanish. I do personally feel that the toy is overpriced it’s a nice little device with lots of options however technology wise I don’t see anything so amazing that this to be at the price it is . The device is well-made does look sturdy and durable and seems like it’s something that will last a long time even after a lot of play. Overall really happy with this device my daughters enjoyed playing with it we do activities together and she hasn’t got bored of it it’s we spend a couple of times a week going through some of these discs and she’s picked it up quickly .

Great concept and great toy but American English and content
This has been a big hit with my granddaughters, one is four and one is eighteen months; particularly popular has been the Christmas songs. The Timio doesn’t come with batteries, it needs 3 x AA size, these fit into a battery compartment under the unit; also in the battery compartment is the SD card with the Timio content, this allows for updates in the future. The unit comes with a range of discs with songs, short stories and question and answer quizzes; the discs are automatically recognised when they are put on and the unit senses when a picture has been pressed, these are around the edge of the disc and my granddaughter was frustrated that the picture in the middle of the disc “didn’t work”. Whilst the unit lists English as a language, this is American English, my elder granddaughter immediately recognised the aubergine as being “wrong” when it was described as an egg-plant, similarly the fire truck and the garbage truck; there is other American content as well. Timio have said that they will release a British English pack in the near future, personally for sale in the UK I think it should be supplied as standard. The other issue with the discs is that the alphabet disc says the name of the letter followed by the phonic; the target age is 3 -8 and for pre-school and lower primary children the emphasis is on the phonic and the sound the letter makes within words, having the name of the letter only confuses, it would be better with just a phonics disc. The phonics are also different to what is taught in British schools. The disc with the musical instruments also just makes the instrument sound without giving the instrument name, which seems an opportunity lost. There is also a disc of bedtime stories and a disc of lullabies and sleep sounds, this includes Brahms lullaby as well as rain and white noise sounds. Timio also includes the content in other languages as standard and, whilst laudable, is of limited use to my granddaughters at the moment. The unit is very well constructed, easy to use and has very good sound; it’s an ideal size for a four year old to carry around and robust enough for an eighteen month old to play with. My granddaughters love it.
