I ordered these based on a couple of YouTube reviews, none of which brought up a frequency response graph. I wanted a taste of what good soundstage sounds like from an IEM without spending big money, so I got them. They immediately sounded like they had a V-shaped signature, and while I don't typically aim for that sound signature, I had no problem with these. Treble: I liked these much more than my OH10s because while the frequency response graphs show a huge hump in the upper mids/treble for the A4000s, the OH10s sound much sharper. The A4000s certainly don't lack detail, but they come across as much smoother. If I had looked at the frequency response of the treble before buying these, I would not have bought them. Mids: They exist, just a little thin. Bass: This was the most surprising aspect of the sound for me. I wasn't expecting much coming from solid metal IEMs like the OH10s, Arias, and Tin T2s, but the bass is punchy, smooth, and round (in a pleasing way). It doesn't sound particularly fast, but it has great tonality. The sub-bass is slightly forward, but the mid-bass tapers well into the mids. Soundstage/imaging Just like everybody else says, very good. I don't have much else to say other than that it feels like the A4000s push everything away. It rarely feels intimate, even when it feels like it should. I've heard their more expensive model can do both intimacy and width, whereas it feels like these focus purely on width. Something to note is that I like to bring these to the gym because of 1, the comfort and fit; and 2, they scale extremely well with volume; they never sound crowded, the bass hits hard, and the treble never becomes too sharp. That being said, the filter on my right bud got soiled from what I am assuming was sweat, but after a couple days of drying, it appears that the filter is back to normal. I really began to appreciate this product after looking at the frequency response graph on Crinacle's website. While the mids are most definitely recessed, the graph tracks extremely well with the target between 500-2k after which the hump begins. The treble hump encroaches a little bit on the upper mids which leads to the mids sounding a little thin in general, but they avoided making any mistakes in the gain region and so vocals still generally sound natural enough. The treble is emphasized, but even, and returns back to the target after 10k which prevents them from sounding too sharp. I don't know why they don't sound sharp, but it's pretty cool. If I ever go into kilobuck range, the A8000 is definitely one of the options I'm looking at.

The Final A4000 has a neutral tonality with the upper end leaning bright. The low end is fast and punchy, slightly recessed. Comfort is on par with similarly priced iems and the included ear hooks were nice but I ended up removing them. The soundstage - it’s good, made much better with foam tips to get the best out of them. The Joshua Valour review isn’t necessarily overhyped but you should try a few different tips to maximize the sound according to your preference. The A4000 excels at instrument separation and has a very enjoyable tonality. Coming from a Tin T4, I prefer the tonality of the A4000. The midrange is more open and it seems to be more clear in general. I will note that the upper frequencies are elevated, not painfully sibilant, but right on the edge of unnatural. The cable does not have microphonic issues but feels cheap nonetheless. I’ve heard they don’t fit all 2 pin cables since there is a notch in the housing. READ ALL THE WAY FOR UPDATE: One issue with my specific pair - the left channel distorts/chatters noticeably around 50-60hz at higher volumes. Does not disturb the listening experience but as a snobby nerd it does bug me every then! May return to get another pair that passed the QC with flying colors. ;) UPDATE: Final swapped my pair for a new, and they sound perfectly balanced L/R. Bottom line - if you are looking for your first IEM or are adding to your Chifi collection, this is a great one.

Bought these for gaming. Sound quality is good and is definitely superior than headphones when it comes to music. On the gaming side it was difficult to hear where sound was coming from directionally. I’ve been using these for a couple months now thinking I would get used to it. For example, in R6 sound is crucial and it as difficult for me to discern hearing if someone was above or below me. The sounds just meshed together as if the sound was just next to me. Currently looking for a replacement but if you were to just use these for music go for it. Gaming with these isn’t really recommended if you are competitive.

I have had these for a few years now and I absolutely still love them. I play drums a lot, and these are very good at creating a sort of seal, which makes everything else much quieter. The sound quality is also much better compared to my old IEMs.

Final Audio utilized design features from their $2,000 A8000 IEM in creating the A4000. Perhaps because of this, the A4000 sounds vastly better than you would expect for $159. The soundstage is remarkably wide, imaging is clear and highly detailed, and tonality is natural. The sound is warm with an exceptional midrange and good bass response. These sound to me like they could cost $1,000. Probably the best deal you can get for affordable IEM, especially if you like the sound signature. (I am using using these with an Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt DAC/amp, and the Dragonfly significantly improves the performance of the A4000. I highly recommend the combination; it sounds stunning).

Depending on the shape of your ears, the angled edges will likely push on the inside of your ear causing pain. Really bad design just to look cool.

These are the nicest sounding iems I have. None of my other in ears have a soundstage as wide as this. Honestly, I think the T2s from TinHifi are pretty close in terms of sound signature and detail: bright sounding with a sort of punchy, but not overdone, low end. These A4000s are a step above them though, mostly because the soundstage is so wide, but also the bass extends lower, and sounds more detailed overall. The accessories are great too, the silicon carry case is convenient, the included ear tips are great and even have their own little case to keep them together. Also, I'm not sure everyone will like it, but I love the cable for these; it's just a straight black cable and it never kinks or fights you when you wrap it up or unravel it. It doesn't have a certain shape it always wants to be in, it's never stiff, it is just at all times wonderful. The only complaint that I have with the A4000 would occasionally be the fit. Sometimes the housing of the iems can shift and push on the outside of my ears in an uncomfortable way, but I can usually fiddle with them and get them back to a relatively inoffensive spot. So, overall the A4000s are a wonderful option for people who like relatively detailed, bright sound signatures and/or iems with a dummy thicc soundstage.

Amazing sound stage and amazing audio quality, good bass, good treble, clear precise instrument sounds, also very good for gaming due to the sound stage you can hear gunshots and footsteps from very precise direction.

Ich habe diese Kopfhörer mit der Intention geholt, diese zum Zocken zu nutzen und dafür sind sie Perfekt. Sie fühlen sich sehr Hochwertig an und sitzen gut im Ohr. Ebenso kommen sie mit fünf verschiedenen Aufsätzen für ins Ohr. Die Final A4000 sind sehr gut zum Zocken geeignet und tun durch ihren guten sitz auch Hintergrundgeräusche gut ausblenden. Ich empfehle sie an jeden, der kein Headset möchte und nach IEMs ausschau hält.

高音域よりのドンシャリイヤホンです。 低インピーダンスのQDCのFrontierより鳴らしにくいと感じます。これは恐らくかなり高音域よりのドンシャリになっているからだと思います。実際、男性ボーカルが遠めに聞こえる一方でシンバルなどの高音域帯の音はしっかりシャリシャリ聞こえて来ます。加えて低音がスカスカでキックドラム音が「ﾄﾝ」って感じで聞こえはするものの音圧はほぼ感じないので音が小さく聞こえます。 この傾向を踏まえた上で女王蜂のメフィストを聞くと、高音域の突き抜ける感覚に感動しました。ボカロのメズマライザーやテトリスも凄くいい感じでした。 詰まるところ、ジャンルを絞ってクールアタック系として特化させればいいだけなので星5です。J-POPとボカロ専用機として考えれば非常に満足出来るイヤホンです。逆にそれ以外のジャンルは別のイヤホンを用意してもいいなと考えられる位、特定のジャンルにおいて超高音質を発揮してくれます。 …それでもやはり、低音中音域の出力が不足してると感じるのでバランス接続かドングルDAC等を間に噛ますかで音量を確保したいですね。

I have been into critical listening with headphones for some time, generally with a preference for open back cans. I own a number of higher end Grado's and regard myself as relatively critical of what I hear. Understanding the A4000 before a purchase can be tough given the number of widely differing You Tube opinions. They range from comments such as the A4000 are wonderous mini A-8000 's (Joshua Valour)to a well known audiophile reviewer (Currawong) simply declining to listen to them anymore as they found the 'sibilance' too strident. My opinion, which is probably of limited worth, is that these are truly stellar if you listen to music within certain parameters: classical, or acoustic based with high quality recordings on reasonably good equipment. They do work from a phone directly but definitely benefit from a Dac/Amp combo - even a simple one like the Fiio KA3 that I use. If your into bass dominated tracks like EDM or mainstream pop from compressed file sources then these will be bordering on unlistenable. I went from audio nirvana listening to Beethoven's violin concerto, to shouting out 'WTF' and switiching off my track when I tried Superheroes by Daft Punk. This track sounded extremely thin and sibilant, almost as if you were listening on a pair of free bundled ear buds. The clarity and separation between instruments on the Beethoven was however breathtaking. You could literally hear the bow hair gliding across the string along with other nuances that I have never heard even with my Grado's. Creaking of stools, a subtle percussion instrument, an intake of breath, woodwind keys as they hit their pads. Its all rather uncanny. Their spatial positioning is also extremely accurate with you knowing exactly where each instrument is positioned. With the right music the A4000 are superb, although I would say even under perfect music conditions they stray close at times to becoming a tad sibilant. They never quite get there, but you occasionally sense their at risk of over stepping the mark. These are not mini A8000's, as I suspect the A8000 can pull off their magic with every genre of music played through it without any risk of sibilance. The A4000 does however give you a little flavour, under the right conditions, of what higher end audio can achieve. Unfortunately for £120 (as you would expect) their is a massive compromise and that is for many genres of music they just wont sit right (e.g. EDM, bass driven stuff, mainstream pop). If like me you are into a wide range of musical genre's then this cannot happily be used as the only 'go-to' headphone. However if funds allow then possibly consider this as a second pair. The only issue is that when these work their brilliance, you will feel aggrieved that your other headphones (which may be more costly) don't sound as good!
