Quiet and great steamer
I love how this steamer is silent, there’s no ticking or beeping when it’s done. I also love that you can put essential oil on the felt piece and have your steam smell like whatever you choose that day.

Conflicting instructions and terrible steam output
This steamer came with two different instructions: One says to use distilled water and the second to never use distilled water, only use tapwater. When I contacted SkinAct customer support, they were of no help because they could not tell me which directions were correct. The SKU numbers are exactly the same. 23180. There is a sticker securely attached to the top of the unit that states “do not use distilled water as it will ruin the unit, only use tapwater“. However, the instruction manual that came with the unit states to only use distilled water, never tapwater. There is a YouTube video put out by skin act that specifically recommends distilled water which is very easy to find on the skin act site, but I am not an able to attach it to this review. I was hesitant to use tapwater, because in any other spa where we did not have this same steamer, I have always used distilled. When I contacted customer support, they specifically told me to use tapwater and to follow the directions attached to the steamer, and not to follow the directions in the manual. I followed the advice of customer support and have used this unit perhaps a total of 50 to 60 times, and now it does not have any steam output beyond 2 to 3 inches. In fact, the steam is not even visible to the naked eye, even on ozone, you have to put your hand right up against it. It has also started flickering and flashing where the digital numbers are, which make me concerned whether or not there is an electrical problem. I don’t feel comfortable using it around my clients when it is flickering like that. See video attached. I would never buy this unit again or recommend it to anyone, and it was quite expensive considering other less expensive, units I have worked with at high-end spas and salons. Skin act offers a one year warranty so I am out almost $250 even though I have only used it 50 to 60 times. I feel the company is at fault, having provided misleading, conflicting instructions. The one year limit on the warranty should only be applicable If the directions provided to operate the unit are accurate, consistent, and correct. They are not. I believe that Amazon should refund my purchase so that I may purchase a functional steamer from a different company with quality customer support, and who provides customers with products that arrives with accurate instructions for use.

It does the job
I was really torn on leaving a 3 or 4 star review. The steamer works. I do think it’s a bit pricey for a steamer. I only went with this version, because the other versions by the same brand make a clicking sound when counting down. The arm on this does slide down and we even rebuilt it hoping it would fix in and it hasn’t. I hope skinact will consider removing the noisy components of their less expensive models so that those of us who would like a quiet machine don’t have to pay more for just that function.

Do Not Buy
I ordered this steamer in Nov 2022 and have only used it a few times and now all of a sudden it no longer works. Payed way too much money for it not to even last a year. Very upsetting and dissatisfied. Don’t waste your money.
