cost effective solution
It worked good for me and probably will for you. I purchased this particular brand and product because it was the lowest price offering for frosted glass spray paint. Amazon was also the lowest price by quite a large margin compared to local big box stores on this item. This Rust-Oleum frosted glass spray paint covered well and resulted in a pretty good uniform coverage of my glass windows. You can no longer see through them yet a very good amount of light still comes through. I only covered the inside of the windows. I figure that the outside would be more likely to get scratches or some other damage to the paint as time goes on and only one side needs to be coated in order to get the desired effect. This paint smells very much of chemical like acetone or finger nail polish remover if you are familiar with those. Maybe its toluene. Its a very potent smell and very flammable also so have plenty of open ventilation like a couple of large open windows or doors - to the outside of the building, not just into other rooms. I had two doors to the room open to the outside and a pedestal fan going to suck the fumes out and it smelled very strongly of the odor for half an hour or so after I finished spraying. The odor was so strong that I held my breath while spraying and then ran out and caught my breath and then went back in and sprayed another pane until I was done. I did 2 coats on each pane of glass to ensure even coverage at the edges. I did one window and have 3/4 or more of the can left. Result: now people on the street can't look through my side porch windows all the way through and beyond. I like it.

Provides Protection
Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass spray paint worked very well to provide the frosting look I wanted on an otherwise clear plastic container. I applied one coat and let it dry about 15 minutes then applied another coat and my project turned out just the way I envisioned it. It's best to wear a mask because the paint fumes are strong, and spray it on a nonwindy day! Great product for crafting projects.

Excellent Results, But Fumes Are Powerful
I bought this spray-on product without great expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by its ease of use. While its best to try to spray as even a coat as possible, small inconsistencies can be overcome with a second spraying (in fact, more than one coat is probably going to be necessary in most cases, since just one layer is too transparent and will show inconsistencies). My photo was taken of a piece of old glass, partially sprayed, and layed against a window with a view outside. On the far left, you can see the opaqueness with two quick sprays. The far right shows the glass unsprayed. Toward the middle, you can see the unevenness of one coat. I did this test quickly -- with more attention, I could have achieved a better result. The product has really awful fumes, but since I was only spraying a few 10" x 15" glass panels, I was able to spray each layer while holding my breath. I live in a NYC apartment building, so spraying outside was not feasible. I did the job in my bathtub - with the window open - , using an old plastic shower curtain liner as a backdrop in case of over-spraying. The pinhole release on the can however, was quite accurate, and did not spray more than an inch or two beyond the intended area (holding the can about 12" from the glass surface). Stay Safe - Always wear protective eyewear. I wore a pair of disposable gloves too. After each spray, I quickly left the bathroom, closed the door, and waited thirty minutes before applying another layer. The odor remained noticeable in the bathroom for several hours. However, the glass panels retained no odor after they had dried. Those with pulmonary concerns should probably consult the directions carefully. Definitely not for use/storage around infants and children in my opinion.. A few days later, I wiped a panel with a water-dampened cloth--nothing came off on the rag, and after the glass dried, the opaqueness seemed unaltered. However, I'd be careful about using stronger glass-cleaning products without testing first. Also, My result is on real glass. Don't know how it would work on plexiglass-type products. Maybe others have commented?

Better than expected results...
It took over two years for me to finally get around to making the laundry room window private. My landlord wanted me to use cheap plastic crap that required measurements, cutting, and just a mess I was clearly procrastinating over. I really didn't like the way our bathroom window looked with the plastic, all bubbled up and cheap looking. I was perusing on Amazon, and happened upon this product. I admit, I was a bit skeptical, but, aside from the prepping with the painter's tape and the plastic with it's own tape (another interesting review I've made,) the end result made me so happy, 3 weeks later, I ripped off the plastic garbage in the bathroom, and frosted that window, as well. One thing to know, it's recommended to do multiple coatings, about every 10 - 15 minutes. I did a total of 6 coats, I love the end result. Far superior and pretty easy to do. You'll spend more time prepping with the painter's tape and fighting with the plastic and it's own tape, but it cleans up super easy, and you end up with something far more professional looking and aestetically pleasing. Highly recommend!!!

Gets the job done fast
Used this on glass where any exposed bulb is too bright since the lamp is next to our tv. Sprayed this on 3 wet layers and let it dry for 24 hours and it was perfect. My recommendation is definitely clean the product as much as you can before, even small dust particles or fuzzes from a paper towel, before you spray the first coat!

Good product but for privacy at a distance! Clean gently!
Due to a water leak, we had to remodel our bathroom a lot sooner than expected. In our remodeling, we turned our tub area into a shower. There is a large window that was right next to the tub. When getting estimates, we made sure to voice our concern of privacy in the shower, as that window faces a shared back yard with other townhomes. The construction company suggested this product and we agreed to give it a shot. In the daytime, it would be fine for privacy. The issue is night showers after dark. With the back lighting, it creates a very clear shadow for the world to see. The other issue is the proximity. If this window were on the opposite side of the bathroom, it would be perfect! As it is in the shower, not so good. In conclusion, this product is great for general privacy. Not great for close up privacy. Edit: the spray comes off fairly easy. We used windex and gently used a squeegee. The squeegee scraped multiple places off with minimal pressure. Be gentle when cleaning!

Frosted like a professional in minutes!
This is by far the easiest way to create a frosted glass look. I used it on three Edison-style lamps with clear glass shades, and within minutes they looked like they came with professionally frosted glass. It's very easy to apply. Hold the can about 8 to 9 inches away and spray a light, even coat. You'll actually see the frosting appear as you spray. The transformation is pretty amazing. Dries very quickly. Make sure youre doing this outside the fumes are VERY strong. In my photos, you'll see a before shot with the clear glass and an after shot with the frosted finish. The tiny specks you see are part of the glass itself to create a rainy or textured effect, not from the spray. Best of all, it wasn't messy at all. If you're looking for an easy way to frost glass, I definitely recommend giving this a try.

Very Easy and pocket friendly way to frost glass
You have to be at sufficient distance from the glass otherwise excess agent will drip and will leave unwanted mark. Needs a bit practice. Area must be well ventilated as it's smell can choke you. I mean it. Though result is pretty good.

Great solution. Make sure you have great skills!
It’s a great item and solution but it would require some skill to make sure it’s done nicely.

Just 5 out of 5
Each coat dries quickly, reduces glass transparency. The strong smell is also notable. just what I needed

Useful in making glass private :)
If you don’t want to spend money on frosted glass, this is a good product.Even changes mirror into frosted glass. I used it on a mirror and a plain see through glass outside my house . Just takes 5 mins and the glass was frosted. Very happy.
