Best Blu-ray drive on the market
This is still the best Blu-ray and UHD drive available on the market. It's THE recommended one at the MakeMKV Forum.I use OWC Mercury Pro to turn it into an external drive and it works flawlessly. Been watching and ripping my Blu-ray collection since I've received it.The seller is top-notch, too. Lightning fast delivery, good packaging and resonably priced.10/10

I bought this because I spent a lot of money on 4k UHD Blurays. My partner, who is an IT Technician, spent 2 hours trying to get it to work. It still does not. Cyberlink will not play ANY 4k UHD movies despite it recognising the disc. We went on their website and it looks like you have to pay another £72 for the software to play 4k dvds. After extensive research, we still could not figure it out and I am not putting my expensive computer through the process of downgrading and installing software, plug ins, etc just to watch a movie. I've tried it on my dads xbox one s and it works perfectly. I'll be investing in one of those instead. Not worth it to buy this. I'll be issuing a return. The description is misleading, claiming it plugs and plays. Would like to know how the people giving this 5 stars got it to work. Guessing they bought the 1.0 firmware version.

came damed, still didn't want to read a disk correctly
when this came in the post today the drive was just in a bag. that's it. so it was as you can tell from that damage.but it looked like the drive would still be fine to use. I stuck it into the computer although the computer can read the drive as a disk etc nothing will play and it will not open the disk.

Sehr gutes Laufwerk zu sehr gutem Preis
Ein mit welchem sich UHD-Blurays abspielen lassen.Wie üblich verlief Kauf und Versand ohne weitere Ereignisse.Das Laufwerk wurde nach dem anschließen direkt erkannt. Es passt sich in die Oberfläche des Towers ein, verursacht keine lauten oder nervenden Geräusche und läuft ohne Probleme mit den von Windows Update geladenen Treibern.Kurzzusammenfassung:Unter Windows 10 läuft das Laufwerk problemlos. Einbau und Anschluss sind für PC-Affine auch kein Problem, natürlich bekommt ein Laie das auch hin.

Good for ripping media
Came in a small plastic bag with the CyberLink software, which I don't need but it's there if you need it. Putting this in an UNRAID server to rip media. I've flashed this with patched firmware to rip 4k discs with MakeMKV. Haven't tried 4k discs yet but it worked fine with blu-ray.So far so good (touch wood). Sounds like a jet engine when ripping though, not that it's a problem for me.EDIT: Can confirm the drive works perfectly with 4k UHD discs and MakeMKV with the 1.02 firmware.
