Smooth like butter
I’ve looked into this kind of devices multiple times over the past years, but could never make up my mind. I finally decided to give it a go and I am so pleased I did! I hate shaving and I can’t really do wax, but professional laser in a beauty studio are way too expensive. Ive done my research and I ended up with this one, I have had it for just over 6 weeks now and had 3 sessions on my armpits, bikini and lower legs. I’m fairly small person, pale with ash blond hair. - it’s is incredibly easy to use and doesn’t require safety googles which is very handy - it takes me about half an hour to do bikini and armpits - lower legs take about an hour (I may not have a good technique there) - the treatment don’t hurt even in the more sensitive places BUT you need to let the device cool down every now and then or it will hurt due to the heat level accumulation - the battery last about half an hour, but since I do have a socket in my bathroom and the cord is long it doesn’t bother me when it needs to be plugged, nonetheless it’s good to be able to unplug it as it sometimes may be handy with certain angles - complete hair removal on my arm pits took only two sessions, I am absolutely amazed with it - other areas showed significant reduction in hair after just 2 sessions - I’ve not got any redness or other skin reactions to it I’m really pleased with this device and its effectiveness, I was a little worried whether it’s going to work, but it’s actually the opposite. The device is working better than expected.

Amazing results
I bought this machine at the beginning of march this year, l had laser treatment years ago the results were very good but this cost a small fortune at the salons. This machine is amazing, easy to use, quality of the machine is outstanding, confortable and non messy unlike the salons were your covered in jelly to get a contact with the machine , yoh don't need it with this. Comes with different heads for face, bikini, under arms , legs. The results are no hair under my arms or bikini line since using this, my face is amazing shame if doesn't get rid of white hairs. Can get a bit warm if using for a while so suggest you switch off for five minutes before commencing treatment th allow yo cool down. Use to epilady my arms, which was painful but since using this no hair on arms anymore, my legs are great as this is were I've had professional lazer done, so just touching up the areas that needed a bit more treatment, results are fantastic. My daughter also has this machine and she is amazed at the results we are both dark haired. Would recommend this to anyone, three uses on your legs and this has paid for itself compared to salon prices

Don’t recommend
Bought one of these over a year ago and it broke within 3 months. Philips replaced it after I returned it. The replacement then stopped working after 9 months but I was past my warranty. Very expensive and unreliable. The used it as advised however it didn’t stop my hair growth

Definitely works - I compared professional laser vs lumea only
So firstly, I had a short course of professional laser hair removal - full hollywood and leg. Before pic is before any of that - it *completely* changed the hair - dramatic reductions in most places, gone or nearly gone in some. But that was 5 years ago and I’d noticed some of the hair creeping back on my legs, esp around my knees, and there were places it hadn’t really worked in my bikini area. I’ve never had anything on my armpits or chin so thought I’d get this to sort everything out on my own. I went for the top of the line device as I had such thick, coarse hair and wanted something which would last as long as possible. There’s a lot of guidelines about how to use this in the instructions and the app - I watched all the tutorial videos but they kind of say the same thing so I’d just watch one - practice is the best thing to learn how to use it anyway. It’s def not the easiest thing to use - it’s so hard to remember where you’ve done so I’ve started to use white eyeliner to draw grids like in my laser appointments. I might be a little too thorough when I do it so it did take literally 3+ hours to do full leg, bikini, armpit, lower stomach and under my chin. I found it VERY painful at times when I was just blindly using intensity 5 everywhere but this has been better using the little identifier button on the device which said I was mostly a 4. Also a lot of the pain is when you’ve used it nonstop for ages as gets very hot. So the results: the after I just took today of my legs - I’ve done 4 treatments 2 weeks apart and an extra one around my knees where there were stubborn bits. Knees were just shaved a couple of days ago so will see if anything grows back, but everything else is G O N E and I’m very happy. For bikini area, there wasn’t too much regrowth to start with and most went after 1 or 2 treatments. Inner labia was the bit laser didn’t really touch, and I’ve still had a couple of patches after 4 treatments but I’m confident it will all go in time as it’s reduced massively. (NB the guidelines say not to use it here! but I’ve had no issues?) Armpits, stomach and chin were areas I’d not had laser - stomach is gone, chin is dying down (I just had the odd black hair under chin) I’d say armpits have about 30% hair left after 4 treatments but they’re super quick to do so happy to just keep going. Obviously treatment time has massively reduced now I’m just focusing on the small stubborn bits, and I’m super happy overall but do bear in mind the negatives - time, pain, difficulty using - when purchasing.

It actually works.
I was sceptical about buying one of these as it is a lot of money and I didn’t think it would work. I have been using it for a year and can honestly say it’s worked so well. I have dark thick hair, using this has reduced the thickness and time it grows back. I have noticed areas with little growth and the areas with growth are a lot thinner and take a lot longer to grow back. I don’t get all the itching and in growing hairs that I did before using. If you’re contemplating buying this but worry it won’t work i can say for me personally it was the best investment.

It definitely works
I had a really good experience with this device. So far, I’ve had 4 sessions in 2 months and I can say it works.

You get what you pay for
As many people do, I ended up justifying the cost of this gadget after using a cheap (<£100) Chinese knockoff for a while. Needless to say, there’s miles of blue water between the two. Leaving aside the premium feel in the hand and much better ergonomics, Lumea just works. My cheap device had 10 power settings, and I was using the highest one, and the success rate was a mixed bag. The very first flash of Lumea on power setting 4 of 5 felt “wow and ouch, that was strong!” After the first use, I built tolerance to the highest setting, and just as advertised, about 95% of hair on my legs (male, not very hairy and fair skin) was gone after 4 treatments spread 2 weeks apart. This was seriously impressive. I did find the claim of entire lower leg taking 8.5 minutes a bit misleading. I’m 5’10” with normal proportions and an athletic build, and I couldn’t manage less than 20 minutes on lower leg and 35-40 for one thigh, but that is still better than my old Chinese device. Lastly, the cordless mode is pretty useless if you don’t have patience to wait 5-7 seconds between flashes on power setting 5, maybe it’s more usable on lower power. Overall, I recommend this product, and I think the high cost is justified.

Not hair removal
I had to wait to review this. I’m a man and I wanted to try this anyways even though it’s not meant to be for men. And I feel like it’s not hair removal. It should be called differently cause it doesn’t remove hair. It makes it grow slower. That’s it. It helps a lot I know but it’s not what I was expecting. A bit pricey for what it’s worth
