Background/use case: I am using these near-field on my desk, each with dedicated Douk Audio G4 ampliers and a Topping E30 Dac/L30 pre-amp combination and an old DBDynamics subwoofer. They replace some old KEF 60s and are a substantial improvement over those (which is hardly surprising to be honest) Once I had everything dialed in a calibrated for my room, I listened to every genre of music that I like and can report that every genre is improved. I have to use the foam inserts (but have a sub-woofer for the bass so its not a big deal). I conclude that the clarity, detail and sound-stage I get from these speakers would take many thousands of dollars to beat. I'm done. This is an end-game system for me. Thanks to youtube reviewers: cheap audioman / darko audio / gr-research / jay's iyagi for the reviews they really helped me decide - I think those reviewers say everything that needs to be said and I can vouch for those reviewers. I think at this price point, there is no touching these for value for money. My soul is filled with happiness.

I spent quite some time researching a replacement for my Rogers BBC compact monitors which I’ve had for years and still sound great. But due to downsizing are now too big for our little cottage. So smaller speakers mean compromising on sound quality, right? Wrong! These KEF Q150’s sound great. They are crystal clear and have a surprisingly deep base. They perform like much bigger speakers, and at the price I think are a bargain. They also look good. Listening to them is a pleasure. Highly recommended.

Jack Oclee-Brown, o engenheiro acústico da KEF certa vez disse em uma entrevista (busque no YT por KEF Stereophile interview) que as Q150 foram projetadas para ter as mesmas características das LS50, apenas com uma construção mais barata. Não é exagero afirmar que essas caixas da KEF são aproximadamente 90% do som de uma LS50, por um terço do preço. Se algum dia você tiver a oportunidade de ouvi-las juntas, alternando entre uma e outra, sugiro que faça e ficará impressionado como são similares. Os pontos mais fortes dela são a espacialidade ABSURDA, separação de instrumentos e recorte estilo KEF (driver uniQ concêntrico), os médios belíssimos e graves rápidos e com boa textura. Usando essas caixas em ambientes grandes, talvez os graves fiquem abaixo do que se espera em volume, mas onde essas caixas brilham mesmo é no near-field, instalações onde você fica próximo delas, como em uma mesa de trabalho, uma estante próxima, triangulando uma cadeira ou um sofá. Aí não precisa nem pensar em sub. E mais, essas caixas tem um "sweet spot" para o posicionamento muito grande. Você não vai precisar ficar medindo a posição e se sair poucos centímetros do local ideal perde a espacialidade, elas são exageradamente generosas com o posicionamento. Existem muito poucas opções na faixa de preço que batem a Q150, especialmente para um sistema em ambiente pequeno ou estilo near-field.

公式サイトでQ150の設置方を見るとニアフィールド ましてやデスクトップ向けではない事は分かっていましたが、見た目に惚れ込んでしまい購入。 見た目に反して調和が取れたバランスの良さと聴き疲れしない低音が気に入りました。 デスクトップで使っていますが定位感はないものの音の精細さや耳に染みる感じは味わえました。 当然ながら設計された本来の低音や定位を満喫するなら設置レイアウトと視聴位置は吟味する必要があります。 能率が良いので10Wの管アンプでも鳴らして楽しんでいます。見た目マジかっこいい
