The center is a clip, look for the notch and unclip it. Then the key opens by sliding both halves together

Yes, it comes as separate lions that fit together as in the picture

I woudl estimate about a third of a mint sealed one

Yes. So long as you don't open it and keep it in the box. The better condition the box is in, the better the value.
