PakRak Commuter Trunk Bag

This is a great product. I bought this bag and compatible rack in September of 2021. Both are still in daily operation and working well. The best thing about this bag; Picture this, you just got a flat tire on your ride and all of your tools are in your bike bag, which is now upside down after you flipped your bike over to access the tire. If you had this Ibera bike bag, you quickly removed the bag before flipping the bike, giving you easy access to its contents. The zippers are strong and have not failed, except for the zipper handles. The zipper pulls are plastic and started to break after about 4 years. I replaced all of the zipper pulls with paracord zipper pulls. Amazon has a 12 pack of Coobigo zipper pulls for $4. Easy to install. At the same time, I decided to brussh some of my bike chain wax over the zipper teeth and that smoothed the zipper operation. The clip on mechanism will need to be cleaned and lubricated about yearly to keep it easy to opeerate. I don't have fenders, so my rear tire flings dirt and mud at the bottom of the bag. No harm, but needs maintenance. Also, the clip on mechanism is significand and does not slip off on its own. I plan to get another if this one fails, but I'm not sure it will.

I'm somewhat new to cycling and ended up buying the Ibera PakRak rack for my 700mm hybrid bike - based upon highly rated reviews from Amazon, so I guess I got lucky that I chose this rack. I bought this bag to replace another, much cheaper but highly rated bag I also bought on Amazon. The old bag didn't last 30 days without developing a large hole along a seam, so after doing a bit of research I found that this bag securely clipped into my rack, which was a huge bonus as I never could get the old bag to attach as secure as I like. Let me say this - this bag is HUGE. At first sight I thought it was too big, but once I put my gear back in the bag, went downstairs and clicked this thing on the PakRak in 10 seconds - I was hooked. As my standard kit, I carry a Kryptonite U-Lock with cable, extra inner-tube, CO2 inflator, two CO2 cartridges, my wallet and my keys. I could easily fit a spare water bottle or two, lunch, and much more. I can get probably two days worth of groceries in this. I mean, this thing has tons of room! It does look a bit comically large on the bike, but the more I ride the more I want to ride, and this bike will enable me to do more types of errands as I have more carrying capacity. It was pricey, but it looks as though it's built to last and the fact that the mount/dismount takes seconds and is rock solid is worth the price alone.

I recently got a Kent Dual Drive Tandem for my birthday from my wife. We are planning on using the bike to go on some longer rides on a few different paved bike paths in the area. I wanted to get a nice rack and trunk type bag for the back of the bike to make it easier for us to carry some of the things that we would typically want to take with us, like cell phones, car keys, a few extra drinks, some snacks, and maybe a sweatshirt for my wife. I ended up going with one of the Ibera PakRak compatible racks, and then I got this Quick Release Trunk Bag. The bag is awesome. It's got a solid plastic (looks like carbon fiber) bottom so that if you set it down on the grass or in some water it's not going to actually get the bottom of the bag wet. There's plenty of room inside of it for the types of things that we'll be taking with us on our rides, and quite a few different pockets. I like that it has a handle on the "back" of it so that you can more easily carry it around by hand when it's not on the bike. It also includes a nice shoulder strap so that you could carry it like a messenger or duffel bag if you needed to carry it longer distances. The quick release system on this bag works really well. It is on the bike in a second, and off in two seconds. It fits securely on the rack and I'm not worried at all about it coming loose or falling off while I'm out on the bike. I ended up getting another rack for my mountain bike so that I can carry this bag on that bike as well, I like it so much. It's REALLY nice to be able to have one bag that you can easily move from bike to bike without having to unhook a bunch of straps or tie downs. I will probably end up getting another rack for my road bike, just so that I can use this trunk bag on that bike as well. Overall, I really like this bag, and when coupled with the PakRak racks, it's a really nice system. Highly recommended.

I've run this Ibera Trunk bag on my commuter / gravel bike for years, with my first one (left in the photos) lasting 5 whole years through daily commutes and multiple bikepacking trips before retirement. I'm a happy customer, so I've finally replaced it with a new one (on the right) - here's to 5+ more years of happy riding. I'm very happy with the durability of this bag for the price as well as the versatility relative to running panniers. One - the storage capacity is great, the main storage compartment can store quiet a bit of volume which I've used for the following: - Windbreaker and jackets for riding partners when on bike rides + you can pack away leftovers from mid ride snacks easily! - Extra clothing, rain-jacket / rain-pants, puffy jacket for winter rides - Rock climbing shoes, harness, and chalk bag + a jacket when I go to the climbing gym - Several pack of frozen dumplings when I go for a shopping run The other compartments are also very useful, with two side pockets, a top pocket, and a back pocket. The top pocket holds a Kryptonite bike cable for extra security, the back pocket holds extra inner tubes and a patch kit, whereas the side pockets hold snacks, sunscreen, and a small med-kit. In terms of the final failure point after 5-years - the bag started to fall apart with the zipper failing after years of stuffing the bag to the capacity limit. The orange quick-release also started to get sticky, no doubt due to build-up of grit / mud over time. Can't complain though - honestly impressed it stood up to so much abuse over the years. Also, a note on water-resistance - the main compartment in my experience has been very strongly water resistant since there are multiple fabric layers insulating the inside. I've had items be pretty much completely dry while biking through strong rain showers in the few instances (up to 40 minute commutes). The pockets, on the other hand, only only one main fabric layer, so not much protection there during downpours.

Overall a very good product, but it has its limits. Be prepared to leave your dress shoes in the office (scroll to bottom for details) Construction: Positives: The construction is solid and seems long-lasting. I have not been exactly gentle with it and have seen no damage except scuffing on the bottom (which is a solid plastic meant to take a beating) Negatives: the main storage area's zippers have a tendency to have difficulty closing when it is at least half-way full, because the main compartment can widen if you are not careful. You have to squeeze the compartment to allow the zippers to align. The rear clip to lock it into the carrier does require some strength to compress - I would recommend they loosen the tensile strength of the springs. Function: Positives: It works very well for a short commute. You can fit a few clothing items, maybe a lunch or snack. The side compartments allow for some repair storage or personal items. Negatives: This is where this product is SO close to being amazing, but just slightly falls short. It is not big enough for a true commuter. Why? You can't fit a pair of dress shoes!! The dimensions of the main compartment are just so that you can't lay shoes down flat, and if you try scrunching them together sideways you lose the majority of the main space. And if you do this, you no longer have space for office-appropriate attire (which is a tight fit without shoes). This product would really benefits from a slight dimensional change to accomodate typical office shoes and probably be slightly taller as well. The side compartments are good, but ironically they seem to be just the right size to be too big for some things and too small for others. If you could raise the height you could also raise the side compartments' height, which would work better.

Made for an Ibera PakRak rack. The bag is very well made, good stiching, and zippers, multiple very good quality bright reflective strips sewn in. It has a strap at the back for a tail light, or to use as a carry handle. It also comes with a detachable carry strap. It has a large amount of space in the central compartment, and a solid molded base, this prevents it from rocking or leaning side to side like all cloth bags do. It has several handy external pockets and shock cord webbing on top as well. The quick release system is a one press release. Once latched it is very secure. So far the latch is very solid. You can transfer or remove it in 2 seconds, no straps or velcro to wrangle. I haven't yet had it in out in the rain so I won't comment on water resistance. I haven't found any cons yet, other than it is a little more expensive than some but as far as I can tell so far, the quality level more than justifies the price.

I have a Ride1Up Prodigy XC Electric Bike, and I contacted their customer service to ask about rack options and they pointed me to this one. On their recommendation I bought the rack along with this bag, and it fits like it was made for the bike. The design is top notch, it is sturdy and solid, while still being sleek and functional. The bag is great quality as well, though it is nice to have them be two separate pieces in case you want to strap something to the rack other than the bag. There are tons of pockets and zippers to keep yourself organized, and it can fit a surprising amount of stuff in it too. I'm absolutely thrilled with this bag, and expect to get a lot of use out of it. Bonus that it serves as a fender for the back of the bike since my bike doesn't have one.

I bought this to go with the Ibera Bike Rack (Bicycle Touring Carrier with Fender Board, Frame-Mounted for Heavier Top & Side Loads, Height Adjustable for 26"-29" Frames). This bag does not rattle or move while riding. It holds everything tightly. It slides onto the rack and snaps securely into place. It isn't waterproof, but an elastic waterproof cover would work well. I had one from a motorcycle bag, so I didn't order an additional cover. I bike commute to work 5 days a week, weather permitting, and this holds my lunch bag, toiletries for clean up and a change of clothes. ONE YEAR UPDATE: Other than the rear light loop coming loose, I have had no problems in the last year. All of the stitches and zippers are intact. It is not waterproof! A light rain is fine, but the waterproof cover will save your bag and its contents. The photo of the torn light loop is not very good, but you get an idea. THREE YEAR UPDATE: The bag is still in great shape. The zippers all work well and the bag still looks new after many miles on the road! I commuted last year on my bike all through the winter and it took everything well. It holds a lot. An electric tire pump, a can of tire sealant, my work clothes, rain gear (pants, jacket and shoe covers) which stays on the bike in one of the panniers all the time, my ten-inch tablet, and my cell phone. The small pocket in the back holds my helmet rain cover and the rain cover that I bought to cover all the bags for rainy weather.

脱着が本当に簡単でワンタッチでできます。 外すと、後ろ側の蛍光部分が取っ手になってるので片手で持ち運びできます。 ワンタッチで外せるので荷物をもったまま安心して食事などできます。 仕事の関係で旅先でもノートパソコン必携なのですが、レッツノート（12.1インチ）を斜めでいれることが可能です。 （さすがに真横や縦に置けない。） デメリットとなるのが、これを着けると多少乗り降りが不便です。 それを差し引いても良いアイテムです

This is probably the easiest bike trunk I have ever dealt with. It clips on and it clips off. The clip is a bit fiddly, but I also have it mounted on a road bike, Decathlon Triban RC100, and that's not ideal for this trunk, but it still works very well. The Ibera racks that secure to the frame, are interfered with with the rim brakes, I don't see disc brake models of the racks having any issues on most bikes. The only reason I even mention the racks, as the clips and the trunk in general pretty much NEED an Ibera rack to be used for your bike. I use an IB-RA4 (the non-disc brake version, disc brakes use a differnt version) The bag itself is fairly sturdy. The bottom is a firm plastic to have it hold it's shape, and the sides are fairly stiff, pretty much self supporting. It does flop around a bit when not zippered, but seeing how it's intended to be zipped up while riding, this shouldn't be an issue most of the time. Zippers have been easy enough to use, they get caught up sometimes, but it's common for plastic zippers. I can however manage to open and close the sides and main compartments while I am riding, so they are easy enough to use. The strap seems fine, comes on and off easy enough. I use it a bike like a backpack or duffle bag when I go into places with it. The part in the back where to strap a light seems fine to me, a little small, but it works. I've had a few times where the clip caught my finger, I've learnt to be careful when taking it on and off, but is well worth dealing with over something like tie downs, Velcro, bungie cords or other attachment methods I've had with other trunks. It really is a good option to take into stores and stuff. I've used it for small picnics, to hold my locks, shoving all my snacks into for day long rides, purses for my friend's, wallets and just stuff.

Very good alternative to standard panniers. I spent quite a long time researching this type of product as I wanted a bag that you can carry easily off the bike. I bought an Ibera seat mounted holder, it is very easy to attach and remove the bag (one clip) and seems very secure when in place. The bag comes with a detachable shoulder strap but I did need to purchase the rain cover separately. The general design is good. Plenty of room in the main compartment. You can fit a full change of clothes, your lunch and a few extras easily. The bottom part is a thick plastic with carbon fibre effect finish. It looks really nice but I imagine you will need to take care putting it down if you don't want it scratched. Overall I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a day trip or commute bag.

Sehr gute Fahrrad-Tasche in hervorragender Qualität. Passt wie angegossen auf den passenden Ibera-Gepäckträger. Die Tasche ist sehr gut verarbeitet. Die Tasche verfügt über ein großes Hauptfach. In der Deckel-Innenseite ist eine Netztasche mit Reißverschluss. Oben drauf eine zusätzliche kleine Tasche und eine Schnellspann-Gummikordel, wie sie heute an den meisten Rücksäcken zu sehen ist. Links und recht jeweils eine gleichgroße Tasche für diverse Utensilien. Hinten noch eine kleinere Tasche mit einer Schlaufe zum Tragen. Diese ist mit einen Reflektorstreifen versehen, was die Sichtbarkeit nach hinten verstärkt. Alle Taschen verfügen über einen Reißverschluss, der mir wertig erscheint. Von vorne nach hinten im Verlauf des Hauptfach-Reißverschlusses sind ebenfalls zwei Reflektor-Streifen, was die Sicherheit und Sichtbarkeit bei Radtouren deutlich erhöht! Die Tasche hat einen Taschenboden aus Kunststoff in Form einer Wanne, ist dadurch extrem Stabil und passt wie angegossen auf den dazu passenden Gepäckträger. Außerdem verfügt die Tasche über einen typischen Taschen-Trageriemen der aber bei Bedarf auch abgenommen werden kann. Sehr gut für kleine Einkäufe oder für die Fahrt zur Arbeit. Praktisch ist die Montage! Vorne einschieben und hinten durch Drücken einer Verriegelung einklicken-fertig. Sitz sehr stabil und nichts wackelt. Habe mir mein Fahrrad zum Pendeln zur Arbeit (ca. 20 km) angeschafft und stand vor der Entscheidung, mir seitliche Gepäckträger-Taschen oder dieser Tasche anzuschaffen. Da mir das Volumen von angegebenen 17L vollkommen ausreicht habe ich mich für diese Variante entschieden. Diese scheint mir stabiler und praktischer. Wertigkeit und Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmen hier absolut! Ich kann diese Gepäckträger-Tasche absolut empfehlen und ist eine absolute Alternative zu den für mich unpraktischen seitlichen Taschen. Das einzige was dabei noch fehlt ist ein Regenschutz. Trotzdem absolute Kaufempfehlung!
