Premium Recycled Corks, Natural Wine Corks From Around the US - 100 Count

Bought them in 2015 for my aunt who drinks a small cup of red wine every night for sleep help.The plastic wrapping seems cheap. Not so giftable. But I was sure that my aunt would not mind.After all, it is such a large pack! In 2019, she reported to me that she had used them up. It took 5 years.

I needed these corks to carve up for place card holders, so my criteria required variety, consistent shape, and the correct quantity. This fit the bill on all counts. While there were a handful of cracked corks in the 200 total I ordered, there were more than 200 in the batch to make up for them. I was hesitant with some of the nasty reviews, but there's some variation with used batches and some people don't realize this. The company obvious takes this into account with the quantity provided.I especially liked the wide variety. I'd guess there are at least a few dozen different wineries included in my batch with all natural cork.For a wedding idea: after carving these puppies up with a reciprocating saw, I had enough sawdust from the project to have a nice fine layer for our unity sand jar during the ceremony. Our foundation in the unity sand are the place cards representing all of our friends and family :)

Corks arrived as described and as advertised. Mine were pristine and largely obviously from white wine and all actual cork. The review here is mainly to share with Amazon reviewers what I am doing with them. We have cats and they enjoy destroying $4 to $5 dollar cat toys. I bought bags of feathers of all colors and experimented with making cat toys. At first I tried using pipe cleaners to contain the feathers with heat shrink to hold the package together. The cats had no problems destroying this version. I looked at the feathers and realized that I was making a bastardized shuttlecock - the badminton bird. I began looking for a source for corks. Now I use a triangular awl to dig out a hole in the cork at various angles and insert feathers. So far the cats have not be able to totally destroy the new "birds" and these wine bottle cork "birds" fly well over distances. Yes, I've trained the cats to fetch these. Simple fetch is simple. The trick is training the cats to go long and get the birds in midair.

I have ordered these 4 times (I'm using them for a backslash in my kitchen) and each time I order them I'm more satisfied than the previous order. Each order has had a great variety of corks and each order has had different varieties from the last! They are high quality, clean and (honestly) beautiful! There's a handful that I haven't had the heart to cut in half. Haha The icing on this review is the shipping. I'm a Prime member and I'm sure that my fellow Prime family noticed that this isn't Prime eligible. No worries! While they are definitely worth the wait, they tend to ship faster than estimated. In fact, my most recent order's delivery date was May 1st - 4th and I got them April 22nd! Two days after I ordered them! If you're looking for quality corks, look no further. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

These corks really met my expectations---unlike the experience some reviewers had, there were very few repeats or shorts in my bunch. There were a few plain ones which don't excite me but I can use them in the craft I"m doing so I don't care too much. Of the 100 (I didn't count--took their word for it) I got one champagne cork which again, I can use somehow. For the money I am more than pleased. I ordered some on etsy before and got tons of shorts and repeats and they were more money!As for people complaining about them not being perfect, well, they aren't advertised as new. The fact that some are stained and show imperfections from being opened adds character, imho.If you aren't looking for perfection, I'd say this deal is a great bang for the buck. I can't drink wine fast enough to do my cork crafts--and if I did, my liver would be swiss cheese and I'd be in fetal position---so thanks to the seller! :)

Happy with the bag of corks I ordered. I didn't count to make sure I received exact 100 corks, but the bag didn't seem to be short, and I had plenty of corks for my project. They do appear to be natural, non-synthetic corks. No wine stains on the corks, so I don't know if they were used to bottle wine and then recycled or if they were just leftovers that were never used because there are years from the late 2000s and early 2010s on the corks. Good variety and similar in size. I ordered them for a bridal shower game and maybe to decorate favors or centerpieces, and they were perfect for those purposes.

For 100 corks, I think amazon has a great price because if you go to BBB or craft stores, about 10-15 corks will run you $6. I made a heart-shaped cork trivet with mine and, for the most part, it worked well and it looks cute, but I had to do a lot of finagling to work in the corks that were much smaller than the standard size. Other reviews mention they got about 4-6, I easily got 20. Since I wanted the trivet to be level with an ombre design from the natural wine stain, it became a little annoying that so many pieces were short. In the end, it's still workable and I think it really depends on what craft you're doing. Very convenient and cheaper than craft stores, so I'd buy again.

We purchased two of these, and used them for a project in our house. The corks came with a wide variety of wineries, and they were all in very good shape. Keep in mind that they are used wine corks, so several of them still had residue and stains from the wine, but that certainly adds character to hand made projects.I really can't think of anything negative to say about the corks. The only thing to keep in mind is that they are not uniform. There are multiple different sizes, both in length and diameter. So, if you need them to be exactly the same, this probably isn't the option for you. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend purchasing from this supplier. And having prime shipping many it arrived super fast.
