Hi. The baby pig is not attached to the mother pig. There is no Velcro, just soft plush everywhere. You can definitely separate the pigs. The baby piggy stuffed animal is about 7 inches long and yes, extras are sold separately. Search "exceptional pig" and you'll see them. The color is the exact same as the mother baby set, even if it looks different in the photographs. Thank you for your interest!
