Smooth Jazz Classics - Jazz Play-Along Volume 155 Book/Online Audio (Hal Leonard Jazz Play-Along)

I own and use most of the Hal Leonard Jazz-Play-Along books...and all are at least good and a few are Great. This book of arrangements of a number of "modern" jazz (I dislike the "smooth jazz" label, as much of what is classified in that category is actually good/valuable jazz music!) is filled with some really good and useful arrangements! I use many of the songs within this book for my combo gigs....and always get lots of nice comments! This book, like all the others in this serIes are also invaluable resources for learning songs and great learning/practice resources! Buy this one...you won't be disappointed!

The description given by Hal Leonard fits this excellent set of smooth jazz favorites to a "T". The CD is an excellent learning / entertainment tool and each piece is transcribed in great detail for Bb, Eb, and C treble and bass instruments. You get Black Frost, Chain Reaction, Chicago Song, Maputo (my favorite), Rise, Shaker Song, Silhouette, Tourist in Paradise, Turn Your Love Around, and You Make Me Smile. The print and organization of this book is excellent and is a must-have for any smooth jazz musician.

Rubbish. Guess I was expecting something a little more authentic to the original songs. It's simplified, shortened versions of the originals. Don't waste your money.

I use books in this series for solo gigging. I'm satisfied if there are 3 or 4 usable tunes for my context. But in this set just about every song is a winner for me. And as always the quality of the tracks are very high.

I have many other Hal Leonard books including another in this series. The Amazon page is confusing: the pictures and reviews indicate this is a version that includes a CD of the audio, while the description mentions streaming or downloaded audio (in only one spot). Streaming and compressed MP3 audio is not suitable for my purposes. I was disappointed to receive this version, without a CD. Buyer beware!

Melody lines are played a bit sterile for my liking, but you just play how you want anyway. Good selection of songs too.

とくにsmooth jazz 好きではないのですが、spyro gyraのshaker song が入ってるの購入しいました。その他の曲も意外といい曲が多くて、サックスの練習にちょうど良いと思いました。最近のplay alongシリーズネット経由ではhal leonardのページからから音源ダウンロードかストリーミングするよになってるみたいですが、こちらはまだＣＤが付属されてるので使い勝手も良かったです。
