The plug is American
Whilst the clippers are as described we were unaware that the plug was actually American and not UK and therefore have had to purchase an adaptor plug, so purchasers should be aware of this. The product itself is goo.

One little beast of a machine
We have three fur babies - a big furry one that weighs 120 pounds, a medium furry one that weighs 55 pounds, and a little Shih Tzu who requires hair cuts more often than our human children at the "bargain" price of about $65 per visit. The clippers we had were old, slow, and loud so for the past several years we have had to take them in for their spring/summer cuts (Mississippi summers are just a tad bit warm for a dog to sport a full fur coat). After suffering a mild coronary at the price for grooming all three we decided to break down and get this set due to the good reviews. I could hardly wait to shear the pelt off of the medium sized dog especially. He sheds like crazy and has an undercoat that would give a Chow Chow a good run for its money. To make matters worse, he is a fairly thin dog and has loose, wrinkly skin. Oh, and he is a big chicken so when you come after him with a pair of clippers he shakes incessantly. So basically, he is an amateur groomer's worst nightmare. As any reasonably prudent adult would do, I read the instructions, oiled this puppy up, and was ready to go. The nice, soft hum took me (and the chicken dog) by surprise. He sniffed it and sat down in the grooming spot as if saying, "Go ahead - that one is not so scary!" This bad boy cut through his thick pelt like butter. I checked it several times to make sure it wasn't getting too hot (as some other reviews have complained about) but mine never got hot at all. In 25 minutes I was done and he looked and felt like a soft, velveteen rabbit. His fur was even, smooth, and best of all SHORT!! No more tumbleweeds of fur floating across the hardwood floors in my house, that is for sure! We could not be more pleased with this purchase. I will say this - for a professional groomer, or someone that grooms often, you may want to move up to the stronger (and more expensive) version. This one was perfectly fine for someone like me that only grooms once every 2-3 months, but if I did it frequently I would want something just a little faster/more powerful.

Quiet Clipper that works Great
I did alot of research before purchasing clippers. Andis is touted as a reliable company to provide great grooming products and this product does not disappoint! The unit runs quietly, as far as clippers go. It's not silent, but my "skittish" cockapoo sat quietly while I clipped him. I was pleasantly surprised. I used the 10 blade that came with the unit, and tried out the comb attachments to see the results of different lengths. They all worked great. Blade did get warm, but never to the point that it was burning hot. I followed instruction and kept the blade clean and oiled (Andis Cool Care Plus 15oz is great!) and was able to complete the clip in a good timeframe. My dog was a bit "overgrown" but this unit clipped cleanly through without any issues. I felt this unit was a good "middle ground" unit..not too inexpensive as to be ineffectual and not too expensive. I think that for a home grooming tool, this one fits the bill. You get good results at a reasonable price.
