Great cleaning power and safe for sensitive parts including plastics
Zero residue and great cleaning power. A little expensive but can lasts quite a while. Safe on plastics too. Also evaporates quickly. Great safer alternative to brake cleaner type products.

The best product to clean your model railroad track.
Used to clean model train track from black buildup / residue that inhibits electrical conductivity, which would keep the trains from running. The black residue is layer upon layer of microscopic deposits of oxidized metal caused by micro-sparks created as the power pickup wheels roll on the metal track transmitting electricity to those wheels. WD40 Contact Cleaner was recently listed as the second best at removing the black residue plaguing every model railroad. Number one is highly flammable kerosene and the effectiveness between them was about 1% difference. I spray the WD40 Contact Cleaner on a rag, start at the middle of the track piece and wipe to the end, then back to the middle and wipe to the other end. I found starting at the end caused the rag to catch on the sharp track edges. Use outside or in a WELL ventilated area. Be prepared to see thick layers of black come off the first several cleanings and diminish to slightly gray as the track gets cleaner and cleaner. WD40 Contact Cleaner evaporates quickly and leaves none of its own residue behind. You will need to clean the power pickup wheels and axle wipers on the trains as well. Use NeverStall to lube the wipers on the axles and WD40 Contact Cleaner on rotating wheels. This has proven extremely effective on small layouts at home and on a LARGE club layout equally when the tracks are kept clean with the WD40 Contact cleaner. More pulling power, less slip on metal wheeled locomotives and less "gunk" buildup on plastic wheeled rolling stock. Don't forget to clean power pickup wheels o illuminated cars as well.

Fixed my electrical connection problem!
I used this on a used van I bought. The window controls did not work. Sprayed this into the housing and connection restored. Love this stuff!

The wetness had me concerned.
Pretty good. May be a little to wet. I think I'd prefer dielectric grease instead though. The wetness had me concerned.
