Liquid Dish Soap that Works!
I am on a lot of constipating medications. I have had a myriad of co-morbid diseases; thus, I've (obviously) seen a lot of doctors, including a Colon Specialist. He told me to "throw out my stool softeners" because all they are is liquid dish soap. Well, me being me, I immediately went home and looked at the active ingredient in both my dish soap and stool softeners. Surprisingly, he was correct (and I consider myself VERY savy and educated with these types of things). So, I threw them out - he said they weren't doing anything for me and to just take Miralax. Well, I did that. Guess what??? It didn't work...I was still getting backed up.Fast forward - I decided if that's the only active ingredient, then I am not going to spend extra money on brand name over the counter drugs. Long story short, added in generic, cheap brands. They should work the same, right?! Same ingredient - not what I experienced. I was backed up again. So, I tried the name brand Colace again ( I also appreciate that they make "clear" as I have bladder issues affected by dyes ). In a couple days, my bowel movements were soft again and I was able to pass stools (TMI).Do I think these are kind of expensive for what you're getting? Yes, I do. However, they work, so I am going to stick with them. I hope this helps if anyone is wondering the difference between the generics and this brand. I don't know they "why" as to how these work better, but they clearly do.

Best laxative
I'm taking pain killers for surgery that cause constipation. I depend on Colace to keep my digestion moving, but gently. This is my second surgery recently that I have used it. Last week I ran our and used another laxative and it was not gentle, gave me cramps, etc. i went back to the Colace -happy it was available on Amazon- I just take once a day (2 tabs) and its perfect.
