Satisfied
Works well with cinnamon and cayenne pepper for quick dispensing of a sprinkle on my food or in my coffee. Disappointed that the container is acrylic and not glass.

For powdered salt or caster sugar
There are other mesh-topped shakers, but this is clear-bodied and has a built-in steel cap. The rotating closure of the cap allows you to choose how much you want sprinkled at a time. As you can see from the photo, the mesh area can be exposed to fully half the cap-- but it can also be set to allow only a tiny sprinkle at a time. As of this date, it is still being made so the company logo is NOT permanently inscribed on the cap. I was able to peel it off and there isn't a trace left. May it ever be so! I appreciate not having brand names affixed to everything on my tabletop. (To all manufacturers of anything: if you offer a good product, I will remember who made it and tell friends who ask. However, if you inscribe or otherwise permanently mark your product, I will search for another by a manufacturer who doesn't require that I advertise them!) Nothing is perfect. Because it is a rotating cap and you are probably using a very fine-grained ingredient, some salt/whatever might get trapped under the part of the cap that has been closed. When you first open it or increase the size of the opening, you may have to tap it once to shake off excess before you begin to use it. As you search through available mesh-topped shakers, you will find that most are very utilitarian in appearance: plastic caps that must be removed and set aside with steel bodies that don't show the contents. You can affix labels to those if you need them and they're fine to use next to the stove or toaster. However, the Newness shaker has the heavy feel of quality in your hand and looks good as part of the tabletop setting for guests to use.

Good Product
I liked the mesh, which was the main reason I purchased this shaker. I needed a salt shaker for my popcorn salt which is powdered Himalayan salt. A regular salt shaker allows too much salt to dispense. The only improvement I would like is if the clear acrylic body was made of glass instead. The shaker works very well now, but it's weight is at the top. The bottom part (acrylic) is very light in weight. If the acrylic part was glass, then there would be more uniform weight throughout the length/height of the shaker, making it a tad more controllable. Other than that VERY EASY to refill. Minimal salt gets stuck in the threads when you unscrew the top. I'm getting some salt getting stuck on the top...it's the even finder powdered salt that's adhering to the top right by the mesh. No biggie, just wipe it off with my finger if it bothers me. No problems with this salt shaker. $ is on the higher side $10 is a bit too high for this product.

GREAT FOR POPCORN SALT!
I BOUGHT SEVERAL OF THESE AS CHRISTMAS GIFTS WITH AMISH POPCORN AND POPCORN SALT (EXTRA FINE SALT). THIS SHAKER WORKS GREAT FOR THE POPCORN SALT AND YOU CAN TWIST THE LID TO CONTROL THE AMOUNT SHAKEN AND CLOSE IT ALL THE WAY WHEN NOT IN USE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LIL KITCHEN GEM!

Perfect shaker for cinnamon sugar
I really like the stainless steel look of this shaker. I use it for cinnamon sugar (fits about 1/2 cup). The mesh is the perfect size for allowing the cinnamon sugar to pass through. I also like that the cover swivels over the mesh and keeps the contents fresh. Great see-through design. Much nicer than the plastic shakers that you buy your cinnamon sugar in. works well for larger salt etc, BUT very fine salt pours out from under the adjustable lid.
I like that you can adjust the shaker to allow a very small amouunt of the product to come out... BUT Im using it for popcorn salt and it is VERY fine... the salt gets between the twist lid and mesh and pours out frim under the twist lid. So it is very nice that it is adjustable BUT the adjustment mechnisim isnt the best for very fine salt.

Great chocolate duster!
I was looking for a “duster” for my cappuccinos! I love a little bit of Godiva Hot Chocolate mix sprinkled on top, just delicious and feels fancy! I looked on Amazon for a long time and everything else either rusts or is too big. I was skeptical of this product but it’s been PERFECT so far! Easy to clean, small enough for household (instead of the giant messy professional ones), and makes a beautiful dusting of chocolate. Super happy with the quality, price, design.

Use it for guppy fish food and it's great
The fine, but not too fine screen does a great job allowing me to dose out just the right amount of guppy food for my fish. The food is granular (not like traditional fish food flakes), but difficult to sprinkle from the package it came in. This shaker does the trick. I also like the rotating lid that allows you to close the mesh or only open it partially to dispense less food. I can imagine that in the kitchen this would work quite well for fine spices, panko, finely grated cheese (like Parmesan), or something of a similar fine texture.
