Its amazing
Got two for my dogs cause it's a very quick way to cool them down. We have had intense summers so any time outside is followed by heavy panting. I have double coated dogs so I spent the money to make sure they are comfortable. Bought one for our first dog and he loves the thing. Then when we got a 2nd pup she was hogging it so we got another mat. They can cool off easily and often choose to take naps on it. Even if we havent done any outside timem It's easy to fill if you're careful about spillage. Neither one of my pups has attempted to scratch or chew it, but sometimes run and pivot or have zoomies on it and it has held up. Their isn't any gel as it's more of a foam pad so that's good. It does have a plastic type smell that has lingered fyi. Could probably wash/wipe it down real good and dry it before filling it with water to maybe get rid of it, but otherwise it's a great buy

It keeps my Meezie cool, and that's all that matters!
It's obviously over-filled - probably should have read the directions - but with a week of 88+ temps ahead, I needed to see if my 17 year-old would use it. As soon as she hit the floor, I pulled her onto the mat. That was over an hour ago, and she immediately stretched out. I see now, I should have ordered the medium. So I will. The mat is sturdy and well-made - surprisingly thick. After I filled it, I placed my hand on it and noticed it was quickly cooling. I couldn't be more pleased. It performed as promised.

Not Bad
She likes it. These photos were taken on a 92° humid Tn afternoon. We are on the front porch, which is covered/shaded, but it is basically a sauna outside in the south in the summertime. Your dog actually has to be laying on the mat, belly down, for it to work. As soon as she sits up, she starts panting.Make sure not to overfill the mat. You put just a little bit of water in and massage it into the cushy lining that sucks it up. I recommend placing the mat down in a bathtub or kitchen sink (depending on size) to fill and adjust it. Water goes everywhere. The instructions indicate you are letting air out of the mat when you open the cap but you are also letting out excess water. The mat is slippery on some surfaces. I have to hold down a corner of the mat with my leg while she gets situated on my polywood/plastic porch swing or it slides off. But it stays in place on the solid wood rocker.

Cool-ish? but parents of chewers beware
I ordered this for my 11 mo. mini-goldendoodle last month in anticipation of a hot summer. PROs: the pad held up well to her normal-get-comfy scratching, offered some extra coolness and squish, would be easy to take on a trip to the beach, and is (blessedly) non-toxic. CONs: the pad offers limited coolness and I'm not sure how well it would stay cool outside for extended periods of time. The other major con is that it's unfortunately not 100% puppy proof. I didn't expect to have to supervise my dog's use of this product so I wanted to give a heads up to others out there whose pups like to solve "puzzles" with their mouths. I also don't think this is necessarily a fault of the design as much as the determination of my dog, but wanted to flag it for other shoppers who are parents of enthusiastic chewers. Although we placed the pad with the plug side down, it was easy to feel from the other side and our pup found this nub to be an exciting textural challenge. When scratching at the plug failed, evidently she turned to her teeth. I'm SO GLAD that the inner texture is not toxic, because she definitely ate the corner of the vinyl-like cover and exposed the inner cooling layer and water. I think I'll try to patch with duct tape to see us through an upcoming trip and closely supervise her use of it, but we'll ditch the mat after that and not repurchase. For more context, my pup doesn't tend to destroy plush beds or other items with this nylon texture so I'm honestly a bit puzzled. In general we're a fan of K&H so it's a bummer this didn't work for us.

Not a cooling mat!
Falsely claims to be a cooling mat. Fill it with water and the water quickly equalized to the ambient air temperature. A cooling mat would have some evaporation going on to make it cooler than the surrounding air. This is not that! Very disappointed.

No more hot dogs!
My Husky’s are in love! I have tried other so called self cooling mats and they have not worked. This mat you can feel working instantly and last for a long time so now my babies are nice and cool! Easy to fill with water, easy to wipe clean. I trust K&H brands because I’ve owned their raised beds for years now and they have survived my large bread pups no problem!

Great cooling pad!
I purchased 2 small ones at that time I had two shi tzu's. I saw the big one on sale and bought it just to see what they will do. We'll I have 3 shi tzu's now and they love that thing. Living in Florida with the heat, they love the comfort and the cooling effects. Great purchase and 3 dogs approved.

Not Cool
The idea seems great but overall, but the floor in the house is cooler than the Coolin' Pet Pad. Also, I was very reluctant to put a water filled item on my hardwood floors. When I put them on the dog beds instead, the dogs didn't want to be on them because they were loud and stiff. They chose to lay on the floor instead.

FRESCO!
Tu mascota lo agradecerá, la verdad me pareció muy bueno y el material de buena calidad, aunque mi perro lo hizo pedazos el tercer día ='(

Good quality, works well
I bought 2, one for each of my dogs. They are very good quality and were well packaged. One dog took to it after a few minutes. The other one is thinking about it. But they are a godsend in this hot weather. And when they aren't laying on it, I rest my feet on it and it does help cool me off.
