Works well. No odor or staining. I injured my knee and of course had PT which initially resulted in more pain but gently rubbing in the magnesium on the painful area was relieving. I did not want pain killers. This is a natural so other in the specific area. It's not introduced to your entire body. I keep it on my night stand so when pain awakens me, I first do some exercises and if that's not enough I spray the magnesium and rub the pain away
