I've been dying my hair bright colors for over 35 years. For over 20 of those years I used Special Effects brand which was the best dye ever, but they went out of business so I tried Manic Panic Amplified hoping it would be similar. NOPE! I've used Manic Panic many, many years ago (like in the late 80's) and I remember it not being all that great but YIKES, it's much worse than I remember. I expected it to stain my tub, towels and hairline, but this stuff stained my whole body! Yes, I wore gloves and used Vasaline around my hairline, but it doesn't matter. My hands are bright pink, the sides of my face, my back, my chest and even my legs are BRIGHT PINK. I washed my hair twice yet my pillow case is now also hot pink. The kicker? The color is not that bright in my hair and didn't take on about 2" of my root area at all. Yes, my hair was pre lightened so there is no excuse why this dye didn't take that well. What a waste of money.

If you’re okay with staining your shower towels pillow cases & everything this comes in contact then buy it! I bought the pillbox red (of course)! It’s a beautiful color but stains badly!!!

Update: my hair is now neon pink!! I just washed my hair 10 times because it kept running PINK!! If you want red do NOT use this color!! Original:This is the WORST manic Panic color I’ve ever used. And I use it regularly. After rinsing until the water ran clear I towel dried my hair. My skin was ok. Next morning I woke up and my pillows and sheets, along with every inch of skin my hair has touched, is BRIGHT PINK! I made sure to wash my skin thoroughly to make sure there wasn’t dye in it, it’s all bleed/transfer from DRY HAIR. On top of the transfer issues, it’s not ‘fire engine red’. After just two days it’s faded to a corally orange-red. The picture included is from the night I colored it and it’s already more orangy than red.

i’ll just start by saying i’ve been dying my hair red for about 8 years. i have used all kinds of brands but tried this one out just this once lol. i usually get some staining in the shower and spray it with bleach, always works. THIS STAINING IS CRAZY. i wore gloves when i applied it and my hands got red just from rinsing and adding product afterwards. the next day, the red started making the top layer of my hands peel off. WTF. i have washed it 5x now and used hot water the last time when i always use cold. the color is beautiful and vibrant on my hair but now worth the trouble!! i will be going back to arctic fox/lime crime for my next hair day.

it was great the color was vibrant it was easy to get off of my skin didn’t stain my bathtub either but i did rinse off in my kitchen sink first for extra measure.
