Is this table made of an endangered species of tree or destroying forests to harvest it? What kind of wood is it made from?

It is made from Jaipur wood. It is a common won in India. It is not endangered and they replant trees so their children will have wood to carve. They even have a tradition that when a child is born, they plant a tree and when the child grows up and marries, they harvest the tree so the child will have money to start their family.

I've seen reviews about bugs......what have you done to fix this? Is there a spray that I could treat it with when I first buy it?

Please know that the issue with the accent table have resolved . The table need not be treated with any sprays and you can buy without worrying about any such issues.

how to put it together it almost impossible?

Place the top face down on the floor or table then attach the base to the top and lock the little woood pons in the groove. Flip it over when done. Easier to install upside down like that than to try to put the top on the base.

No - it’s shipped flat, as the sides are hinged and open up. The top is easily attached with no tools.
