Affordable, effective 10-Band EQ with universal gain/volume control
There are a lot of cheap EQ pedals on the market, and most of them work just fine. But I opted for this Caline model because: (a) I have other Caline pedals and appreciate their value and build quality; (b) I wanted one with a master volume/gain control; (c) I wanted one affordable enough that I didn't have to feel sick about breaking if I used it improperly. I got the CP-24 primarily to use with my guitar amp - it's excellent in the effects loop, where you can most purely impact EQ frequencies without then feeding those into a preamp, which itself has its own tone stack. You can also use it as a volume attenuator - set up your amp for the tone you want at any volume, and then roll back the gain using this EQ pedal in the FX loop. Works great for home/apartment practicing! Guitar frequencies are more narrowly focused than this, and most frequencies below the 100Hz level are below what the guitar actually puts out. So you don't "need" a 10 band EQ, per se, but having one gives you more precise control. For example: maybe you want to boost mids, but really want to boost LOWER-mids, as opposed to a Tubesceamer-like effect. The CP-24 allows you to do that. I also want it because I could see using it with bass, synths, and other gear that much work more in a full range of frequencies. The pedal itself is built very well, though I wouldn't put a lot of stress on the 11 slider knobs, which are plastic and could break off if rest or drop other things on top of it. The CP-24 is a great affordable option if you want a 10-band EQ and can't afford something like the MXR version.

A great pedal for a great price!
When I ordered this EQ pedal I asked myself “how good could it really be and after having it to hand for a few months I can happily say I woefully underestimated it. I’m mostly an at home player and having the level of sound shaping this pedal provides is incredibly beneficial when playing thru practice amps with smaller speakers or at lower volumes. I’ve always found 1x8 combo amplifiers to sound really boxy and dull and although that issue has improved with today’s modeling amps, having this pedal in the chain is a game changer. It works great with both clean and distorted tones with little adjustment in between. It’s larger than a Boss EQ pedal but it’s way more versatile and fits well on a board especially if you’re willing to mount it sideways. The lighted sliders are very nice to have too. Recommended!

Slightly noisy but good tone.
Great for the value. Good tone and nice boost. Not as nice as the MXR 10 band but close enough. In my area, all the MXR brand EQs seem to be put through hazing rituals and forced to work in coal mines before being sold on the second hand market. So the price of this EQ is very appealing amd you grt a clean, new pedal. Has a little hiss that a noise gate will solve. For the price, you can get a cheap gate and this eq and still be less than the MXR 10 band and sound great. Does seem to work better for bass than guitar. Maybe I missed that in the description though.

Great value
Absolutely worth it. Sounds as good as the expensive models. Easy to put in the signal chain on you board.

Stop over thinking and buy it.
So I have been playing for years, and I've gone through the struggle of finding a pleasant tone and going through more amps than I ever have guitars or other instruments. With an eq pedal, it makes finding that sweet spot so much easier, and can effectively make a crap amp sound alright. This unit in particular has the range to even tweak 8 string guitars and bass, pre, or post effects and distortion and it hasn't popped. For the price it's well worth it. I'm angry that these pedals exist and are so cheap and I just now bought one after over 18 years of playing. Stellar pedal. No operating issues, plastic is a bit chinsey but if you're mounting it on a pedal board I don't see a problem arising. OH! AND BTW! the gain slider on this pedal is powered gain with boost rather than just a volume slider, so you can boost your signal as well as tweak your tone.

The pedal crackles, the switch makes a loud audible click, the gain is at least 6 dB low
I have had trouble getting this Caline CP-24 EQ pedal to do anything and I just figured out why, but too late to return it. It turns out that I got a defective pedal, or perhaps they are all defective. I don't really know which. In any case, this one does not work right. With all the EQ sliders set to 0, the Gain slider has to be at 6 just to not sound quieter when it is switched on. The Gain set at 0 is supposed to be unity gain, but that actually is about 3dB quieter than when the pedal is off. So if you are using it to get a lower signal (like playing in an apartment with this pedal in the effects loop) that actually works well. But using it before an amp is not so good. I think I would like it if I got one that worked right. Since it took me over 30 days to figure out what was wrong, I don't know how to return it. I recommend getting it locally so you can return it if you get a defective one. Other info - It takes up 2 pedal spaces. The lights on the slider are great. The on/off switch is really loud when switching it on. There is a big audible click. Again, I don't know if that is on all of these pedals or just the one I got. 2 stars might be generous. Changing from 2 stars to 1 star because, later, after I wrote the initial review, the pedal started crackling when switched on. It is totally unusable. Not worth buying.

Works well on an acoustic bass guitar
I bought this for my acoustic bass guitar, which I just started playing at my church. Sort of helpless feeling on tone, as I am used to managing an aggressive electric tone with a giant tube amp and cabinet and pedal board. So playing acoustic through the PA alone is a different experience for me, and this single pedal brings it under control. The difficulty has been managing the tone, as the PA's mixer is a pretty good one, but certainly doesn't have a 10-band EQ for every channel. That means that if the guitars are mixed correctly, the bass sounds tinny, and managing this with my preamp knobs on the instrument just creates a woofy sound that's uneven across the strings, muddy E string, bouncy G string. With this cheap pedal, I can correct the EQ on my channel, to some degree controlling the tone for each string, thus separating my feed into the PA from the guitars. It still goes through the mixer's board, yes, but it's a corrective that is precise, unlike my preamp or a smaller 6-band pedal.

So far so good.
Seems to work good and looks cool. Can be used as a mild overdrive.

Great EQ !
UPDATE, SEE BELOW First of all, I ordered this at 7pm yesterday and received it today at 10:15am...how is that even possible ? Talk about fast shipping :-) The pedal feels really solid, casing seems to be made out of "heavy" gauge metal. Sliders feel good and there's a "stop" at 0 position. 9V battery adapter and stick on clear rubber feet included. I haven't tried it yet, but will update review as soon as I do. UPDATE : finally tried it, works great ! The only thing is that 16k band doesn't do anything, unless it's my hearing and I just can't hear such a high frequency, which wouldn't surprise me... 😉 As MXR makes a pedal that's almost identical with exactly the same bands, I guess people with good hearing can perceive 16k sounds.
