Clear, easy to read and accurate. This is a brilliant transcription of complex bass riffs. Looks like I need to get book 2 now 😁

Excellent Transcriptions
Despite a wealth of transcriptions circulating on YouTube, I wanted the best part of two albums in one neat source. Stuart also gives some advice on the Zender sound, which is a nice edition. I did wonder sometimes how he managed to come up with certain passages. For example, from the chorus of If I Like I Just Do It, he has you go from B on the 7th fret up to D on the 10th when it sounds clear from the original Zender plays the D phrase at the 5th fret (old footage confirms). Very minor criticism in what is an excellent book.

Quite a few mistakes. Disappointed.
Hmm. I was really excited to get this. First up I put on Emergency on Planet Earth and noticed that I was out of sync by the end of the first verse. Thought it was my rusty sight-reading, but no, bars are missing. Tried Light Years next and there's just no way the bass is coming in on beat 2 in the intro. Try playing what is written here along with the record and it sounds more King Crimson than Jamiroquai. Who proof read this? For 22 pounds this is really unprofessional. It's not a total washout, there is some nice stuff in here, but you want someone who really knows what they are doing at this price. Sorry, I hate to criticise musicians but come on, you can't make these fundamental mistakes and charge money for it!

Good transcription
Wanted music notation for practising bass, and this is no short of challenges, given the complexity. I found that every song is also explained at the end in details about the song and the bassist (Stuart Z.) who wrote these groovy bass lines. Having studied music on another instrument this was easy enough for me, however the tabs can help to get the best execution of each note, with the advantage that if you know the music you can tell for how long a note needs to be played. I guess people who don't know music can just do tabs and listening, which is way better than listening alone! Practice, practice...

Tolles Buch, großartige Bass Tab!
Es ist schon seltsam. Ich finde das Buch großartig, der Bassist ist der Hammer. Die Musik kann ich aber kaum ertragen. Kann man vermutlich nur verstehen wenn man selbst Musiker ist. Für alle Fans dieser Musik die Bass spielen, kauft euch das Buch. Für alle die die Musik von Jamiroquai fürchterlich finden und Bass spielen, kauft trotzdem das Buch, ihr könnt ne Menge lernen :-) Viel Spass.
