This heat gun is worth the additional 8-15 dollars for the name brand given how many unreliable and inconsistently performing heat guns are out there made by unknown companies. The power is technically lower, but I believe it makes it more usable for most tasks vs only using the low setting of stronger tools. Nice attachments with the kit so just get it.

Gets hot quick works as advertised

Bought this to replace a BuyHeatShrink brand VT-1100, which had given us excellent service over the years. I would have bought another VT-1100 but the shipping time was longer than I could wait. I needed a heat gun right away so I ordered this one. It was very inexpensive so I figured what the heck, I will try it. It didn't have the fancy heat control knob, just high and low switch but I only use full throttle so I didn't care. Very impressed so far with this unit. I think its full throttle output might actually be a little hotter than the VT-1100 which is more expensive.

i got a used one and it looks new. doesnt seem to be used . only saved me a few bucks but ok. works well. i never had one and it makes heat shrink ming electrical connections a breeze! also used to soften some tight fitting rubber hoses. another tool in the tool box. medium is hot for my needs, hot might melt heat shrink but it packs a hot punch! i chose this one bc Wagner is a well known and quality product. i am happy with it, never had a heat gun before!

Just what I needed to remove my hood wrap. I use low heat setting because that’s hot enough for the wrap removal and it’s honestly been great. Makes the process so easy. Satisfied with my purchase.

The heat gun was bought just to make it easier to remove the previous 2 layers of paint before repainting. The Wagner 400 was about as useful as teats on a boar. The instruction manual was followed as directed, such as pre-sanding, etc. However, we might as well have poured hot water over the old paint & get the same results as the heat gun, which was diddly-squat. Overall, the Wagner 400 was easy to use, felt comfortable to hold, a pretty not too bad user manual, and nozzle attachments for various projects. Although we didn’t use it for the other applications such as removing caulk, or to soften pipes for bending, but I think it would be more useful for those tasks.
