I subscribe to all 3 Sk8 Mags and love this one the most and it stays in my office while I lose th eother two..---GUYS..Skateboarding has changed!! Look at all the PROS. They aren't like it was in the 80';s and early 90's with the pros being children,,now the pross are those same children I just mentioned. I think the average age PRO is 22-28..-When I skated full time the pros we're Jason Lee,Danny Way,Matt Hensley,Guy Mariano, The Gonz,Collin McKay,The Gonz.Pat Duffy, The guys we';re 18-20 years old and the material they liked suited that age. SKATEJUNT AND gold,DKG isn't little kid friendly.-That';s also the reason why most of the 90's generation HATES the current generation. They are too old and thus the stuff is too dangerous.. What the heck is cool about a 30 step backside flip? Or these Hubbas/rails that have 1-3 story drops on the other side and if you miss it's hospital or death. That is why skating is booty. I'll take the Curb Dancing everyday. And it's only the 1% anyways that's doing the super ghnarly stuff,,but sadly that 1% is the leaders/pros. hence theyre mag coverage..Its only a matter of time before The Phelper(Thrasher) gets sick of it and fixes skating. danger is the only reason the world will watch a competition...---Fathers,,all magazines must be screened if youre kid is under 13. esp if its a daughter. Cause it is sexist., But the world is,not skating.. My daughter is 7 btw, and she skates, but we stick to homade youtube videos of skateparks of actual children..-But I did edit 1 thrasher of all the mediocre content and it wasn't worth oit cause she barely cared...-By the magazine!

Mature Audience Only
My daughter (age 9) and I went into the local skate shop and picked up an issue of this mag as recommended by the young clerk. I thought it'd be good to look at since my daughter is showing an interest in the sport and we're thinking about a better board for her.We thumbed through it together and I found that some of the articles were well-written and interesting, but some were really profane - lots of nasty stuff and promoting an unhealthy lifestyle. There were also no female skaters and nothing good to say about women - bummer. So I let her look at the pictures and tore out some of the text - probably 10 pages. There was a pretty cool DVD (an extended ad for element skateboards) that came with it that I think she'll enjoy. But parents should be aware that this is not kid-friendly.

Not super kid friendly
Not super kid friendly, but most people understand that if they understand skater culture. Wish there were some girls in the magazine. I bought one for my eight year old gal who just started skating, but then I realized she would think it was a boys only sport. So I probably wont get another. Better to get her into it by finding gals skating on youtube. Good magazine for boys 13+...

Best skateboard magazine out there
The skateboard mag is the most legit skateboarding magazine available. If you're only gonna subscribe to one skate mag, this should be it. Another review seems really concerned about some "controversial" material but that comes with the skateboarding territory. be sure to grab this subscription even though it might have some naughty words in it.
