Natural Whitening Activated Charcoal Powder for Teeth and Gums (Spearmint)

Okay, I don't know about you, but I'm a pretty skeptical review-reader and Amazon purchaser. When I see a product like this that's kinda weird and it doesn't have a LOT of reviews, but they're all positive, I tend to assume that any of the non-veeified purchases are fake reviews. But I have really sensitive teeth, and normal whitening products make my mouth SO sore, and I find leaving them on for 20 – 40 minutes (depending on the type) really inconvenient. Plus they're stupidly expensive. So I figured "why not?" I'll buy the weird charcoal mouth powder. It's cheap, so worst case scenario I get to laugh at my boyfriend when I make him try it. Win-win. So I used it for the first time today, and I have renewed hope and optimism in life! This stuff is amazing. I put a little on my wet sonic toothbrush and just brushed like I normally would with toothpaste. Took a bit longer to rinse my mouth, toothbrush, and sink, but who cares? It's not a 20-minute strip of bleach and cling wrap on your teeth. So I finally let myself check in the mirror, and holy s***! My teeth are already visibly whiter. I'm blown away. It seriously is more noticeable than one treatment of any whitening strip I've ever used. I unfortunately did not take a before pic, so I know seeing my teeth isn't very helpful, but I drink a LOT of coffee, and this actually is a noticeable improvement for me (I know, I know, for shame). Anyway, if you too are a skeptical purchaser, from one cynic to another: this stuff is actually great. Pros: • a little goes a long way: this tub will probably last me a year • quick: no longer than normal brushing • effective: whiter teeth after one application • taste: slightly minty, not at all chalky like I expected Cons: • after taste: may want to follow with mouthwash or a tiny quick pass of toothpaste if you want a better after taste

I purchased this product because I wanted a charcoal powder that attempted to mask the ashy taste of regular charcoal and because it boasts organic ingredients. I don't think there is much anyone can do to successfully mask the taste, but it was a nice try. I have been using this for 3 days now and after the first attempt my husband and I both noticed a noticeable change in the whiteness of our teeth. I was not skeptical buying this product as I know the qualities of charcoal in a lab setting (as an adsorbent) so this is one more application of it's chemical traits. Although the charcoal makes your teeth feel very clean, just make sure you continue to use a fluoride containing toothpaste as that is more strengthening to your teeth and can help prevent cavities. One thing to note, it is messy. This is not due to the brand, this is the nature of the finely ground charcoal. Also, I find myself having to floss for about 5 minutes after using because the charcoal rides all the way up into my gumline. Other's can't notice it, but the line that meets my tooth is a sandy gray color if I'm not careful. My regimen is to brush with charcoal, floss, brush with fluoride toothpaste, and maybe mouthwash next. I will continue to use this product even though it has added a few extra minutes to my routine. It's better than the whitening agents over the counter because it is more inert.

I have spent quite some time looking for a good tooth whitening charcoal with mainly natural ingredients and I think this one is a great find ! It is not overpriced and the ingredients are great ! The powder is grey not black and very light. The mint smell is very delicate and there is no taste at all which is great. As other reviewers have mentionned the abrasive effect of this kind of products, I have been using it very cautiously to prevent damaging my sensitive teeth. Here is my routine : I first brush my teeth with the charcoal as recommended. I rince. Then I brush my teeth again with my regular toothpaste (without the charcoal). Then I floss twice with regular flossing and water flossing and then I rince my mouth. This way, I do not have any residue between my gums because as the powder is very thin, it is true that it goes between the teeth but with a very good wash I do not have any issue at all. I first used it once daily but realised my teeth had become more sensitive so I am just using it once in a while now and I feel much better. But I must say that when I use the charcoal, I have a very great sensation in my mouth afterwards !!! my teeth and mouth feel very clean and fresh and I really see a difference in the color of my teeth too which is amazing especially considering I only use it once in a while !!! As we can all guess, brushing ones teeth with a dark powder is messy but it doesn’t stain my sink at all and rinces very well with just water so there’s no need for a complete bathroom clean up after each use !! I also have implant teeth and they are not stained at all by this charcoal. So I can say this is a great, very natural and really efficient product but that have to be used with care for sensitive teeth. I would definitely buy it again !!!

I brush with this once a day at night so there haven’t been any dramatic changes to my smile. It took about 4 days for me to notice whitening, so it definitely takes time to work but it DOES help. I got mine with the spearmint added in and I honestly have to brush my teeth first with regular toothpaste before using the product because I don’t feel like it really cleans my mouth too well by itself but that’s just me. The charcoal gets under the gums so you’re WILL have to floss after each use (which I’m sure your dental hygienist will be happy about). I’ll keep using it since it’s really not bad, but I think I’ll spend a little more money next time.

I have been using this product for 2 weeks and I'm in love! Being a coffee drinker, I've tried to whiten my teeth with DIY at home remedies before. However, this is ultimately harmful to your teeth as it breaks down the enamel. Looking for a better way to whiten, I read the reviews on this powder and decided to give it a try. It has a minty smell but I did not notice any significant taste. It is super easy to use: wet your toothbrush, apply the powder, and brush! This product can be slightly messy when you rinse and spit in the sink. However, taking 10 seconds to rinse the sink with solve this problem. After using it, my teeth and gums feel super clean. The only con to note about this powder is that small amounts can remain between teeth if you don't rinse well enough. I usually use a floss pick then brush again with just water which seems to do the trick. Although I did not follow the whiteness of my teeth day by day, within 1 week of using this product once a day I noticed a difference. By 2 weeks my teeth are pearly white! The jar is well worth the price. I anticipate it lasting 6-8 months if used everyday. Well worth it in my opinion!!

Holy Moly this stuff is great! I read ALL the reviews before I purchased - and there were some that made me pause. In the end I decided to go for it. I didn't have any of the issues that some others have reported. It didn't get caught under my gums. It didn't taste horrible - in fact it had a very light and pleasant minty flavor. It didn't leave my teeth feeling sensitive. It didn't stain my VERY SOFT toothbrush, and it WORKED! Is it messy - yes, you have to be careful. Scoop it out with a teaspoon in to the palm of our hand as opposed to trying to pour it in to your hand. Spit low in the sink with the water running, or it'll splatter, I wish I had taken "before" pix - but my husband did ask if I was whitening my teeth. Was it a dramatic change? No. Was it a definite change? Yes. I'm hoping the more I use it, the whiter my teeth will become. I'm pleased that I spent the money - which wasn't that much - and I'd do it again. I WILL do it again!

This stuff is very messy. It's a powder, not like tooth paste, so it flies all over the sink, faucet and mirror. Would have to clean my bathroom after each use, so into the garbage can it goes. Sorry, just not a fan of cleaning bathrooms.

I love this g-d stuff! It whitens very noticeably very quickly and helps with sensitivity better than brushing alone. My favorite flavor is Cinnamint but I couldn't find that one anymore so I tried Spearmint and it's just as good. It lasts a long time, even though the jar looks small. Definitely recommend.
