4 of them didn't work.
I changed my review from 1 star to 5 star because the error was mine and that's why 4 out of 5 of them didn't function. Since then I've bought 15 more and will continue to but in the future. These really do work great and I can tell at a glance if my soil is wet, moist or damp depending on how saturated the strip is.

Takes the guess work out of plant care
I love these handy meters. I no longer guess if plants need water, and my plants are much happier for it. These meters fail after a year, but are well worth replacing.

They work as advertised after six months.
So far six months, still working. I have three sizes . I understand i can purchase a refill instead of the new product. I haven't searche that yet.

Very Helpful indicators
When I first ordered these, I didn't realize that they came in small, medium and large. I also did not realize that they last 6-9 months. They do work well but I think they are expensive now that I realize they will stop working. New inserts are kind of expensive too. I think I will look for a longer lasting or more permanent alternative. I may look into purchasing the indicator that is used and try recharging them myself but maybe too much of a bother.

Pretty inaccurate
I put these in 3 different houseplants, with 2 each in 2 of them. You have to water as far away from them as possible to avoid getting them wet and giving a false reading. But I found that they were unreliable, almost never showing green-blue except on the day I watered, which (if I believed them) would lead to overwatering. NOT the "magic bullet" that they're presented as being.

Works fine, helped my plants
I’ve had them for about a week. Works pretty effectively for me- however- it does take a minute little bit of time for the sensor to go blue so you might not think it works right away. This photo was 30 minutes after watering. It’s a little give and take though since you don’t know the percentage of moisture. Still great for newbies with small plants or shallow pots.Several week update: they all still work and I can see now that I have been under watering my peperomia. It’s starting to look better with more controlled watering routine that these sensors have helped with. Worth the money to me.

Easy, functional, helpful- mostly- they actually WORK.
These are fantastic, so easy to see and use, so much more reliable than the hydrometers, that only 1 out of 5 seems to work. Easy to insert, read and reliable. Ordering 2nd round.

Work great, made in Japan
"Doc, Japan makes all the best stuff" - Marty McFlyMore pricey than chinese knockoffs but worth it.
