Q: Do I need to purchase any additional parts or accessories?

You will just need a hose to attach from faucet to the unit. We got a black RV hose so that it would warm the water in the sunshine.

Q: What grade of stainless steel is the metal? 716?

I'm not sure the grade, but all i could say is this thing is good quality. I have had it for about 6 months now and its out in the elements and its is still perfect. Had some doubts because of some reviews about it leaking but honestly i think its just user error. Highly recommended .... have it by my pool and we love it!!

Q: Where exactly does the hose connect? is the connection concealed in the wood neck or other?

The connection is not concealed. It on back of shower about halfway up. Standard garden fits.it. I put it by my pool so our kids could wash off before getting into the hot tub.works great. Very well made I

Q: Can you connect a electric hot water heater to this?

Not sure, it only has one connector. I would assume you can connect hot water but no cold water would mix with it.
