Awesome resource
I've been going through this book one chapter at a time with my kiddos. It's pretty awesome. Each chapter has a mini-story of common issues, a break down of the problem, questions the kids can ask about how they've experienced these types of situations, examples of how to mentally approach it in a healthy way, what they can do to change how they feel to something better, and actions they can take to avoid or deal with the situations in healthy ways. It allows for discussion, suggestions, and in some chapters, there's a page for them to write down things they can do that would work specifically for them.Chapter include things like, when you don't get picked for the team/solo/etc., what happens when you say "yes" to everything and how to build boundaries, dealing with big changes. It seems to be written for kids in middle and high school, but it's a pretty useful book for adults and younger children, too. I've picked a few pointers and the neighbour's 6 yo joined us for the chapter about learning how to say "no" and how you don't have to give an excuse: No is the whole answer. We saw the change in her the next day.Worth a read and if you have time to sit down with the children in your life to go through it with them, it can literally change both your lives in good ways.
