Other reading rulers just have a line. These have a bar which can be used to block out text above or below. This is a bigger help for my dyslexic readers who need to block out text. From watching my readers, it's pretty 50/50. 1. Some use the bar to block text <below> where they're reading, so the ruler is under the text. 2. Some use the bar to block text >above< where they're reading, so the ruler is above the text. 3. My non-dyslexic readers often use the ruler just to follow along and keep their place when we're reading. I like to read ahead, so I like the second way.
