Hides the worn color on the leather couch well.
Although the color was dark brown, it matched our espresso colored leather couch. There was no color run after it dried so that was good. My only issue is that it changed the original soft texture of the leather. It kinda of made it feel like a cheaper quality leather. Maybe the 3 recommended coats was too much. I hope it lasts but it did do the job.

It works
I bought this to darken a pair of work boots that are comfy but a little too light in color for my taste. Boots are Ad-Tec "crazy horse leather" (I think they mean saddle leather?), with a water and oil resistant treatment. The surface texture is not suede, but has a similar finish. I did one boot at a time so I could show before and afters.Personally I found the creme a little difficult to work with due to its thickness. It goes on almost like paint and it shows brush strokes if not applied carefully. I gave it two layers, plus a third where I thinned the creme out a little bit with alcohol. I still ended up with a few light spots. After rubbing the boot down in mink oil the light spots and streaking are still there, but much less noticeable. The kit includes the dye creme, several applicators, and mink oil so I feel like you get a decent bang for your buck. Overall I'm happy with the finish - but only because they're work boots that will get scuffed and dirty anyway so the little bit of streakiness and light spots aren't a huge deal. If I was using this on furniture... I'd be pretty disappointed in the finish. That may be an issue with the leather I used though. There's a lot of variation in leather types and how they take treatments so your mileage may vary. Definitely spot test somewhere inconspicuous before doing a full application just to make sure it will work with your leather.TL;DR My boots are darker, and they're boots so an imperfect finish isn't a deal breaker to me.

One of the BEST products I've ever purchased ❤️
I purchased a used all leather chair with a matching ottoman. Unfortunately the ottoman had been terribly scratched up by a cat. Since the chair was in perfect condition i figured if I couldn't "fix" the ottoman the chair alone was worth the purchase. I lightly sanded the ottoman (every part of the leather was scratched and discolored) with super fine grit paper, wiped it clean and spent 15 minutes tops applying this product with the large yellow sponge included. 24 hours later I did a 2nd coat then I applied the mink oil, also included, the next day. I'm mad at myself for not taking before pictures but I honestly thought the ottoman was a lost cause! This turned out amazing and no one believes it's even a 2nd hand piece. Super product, easy to apply and I was even able to clean the sponge applicator for another use, just in case!

leather steering wheel, arm rest, seats repair
Used 90% alcohol to prep the area and applied recoloring balm by rubbing it in with pressure, otherwise you end up with thicker layer, wipe off any marks cause it dries fast, after 24h reapply few more coats and finish with mink oil. It will dry harder and stiff if you use alcohol to blend it(might be usefull for cracked areas as filler), apply mink oil over the area for a wax looking finish. BLACK IS BLACK

Successfully re-colored areas on worn leather sofa
Refinished several areas on a worn leather sofa. Applied the paste in small amounts using several coats. Allowed to dry for 12 hours before applying the next coat. Worked really well.

BUY IT!!!
Short and sweet review: just buy it. It’s super easy to use, dries quick, and covers up beyond my expectations! A little stiff after applied but softens up.Longer review for those interested: I had no tears but have splitting on the piping on the cushions and color loss on the cushions. I bought these from Costco 7 years ago, and about three years ago the damage started. I’ve tried fabric pens to color in the white showing through the piping and other leather repair kits that required you to mix stuff and was sticky and hard to use. Was about to buy new couches and wanted to try one more thing. I have a couch, love seat, easy chair, and ottoman. Cleaned them all with rubbing alcohol and used the little yellow pad to buff. Go super light with a first coat, then go back and touch up the super messed up parts again. I used one full jar for the first coat on the couches and ran out for the ottoman. Tapped into the second jar for the ottoman and touch up. I kept demanding that my husband come in the room to watch the magic happening as all the damaged disappeared. Took less than an hour for the entire process. I don’t know how long these will last, but I just need them to make it a little longer until my kids are older and I can trust them not to destroy new couches!

Not for absorbant leather??
The description in the box when item was received said it was not for leather that would absorb water. I did not notice this in the description before buying. But, since my leather couch is old and completely worn out on the seats, I figured what the heck! Couldn't make it any worse! The seat leather is devoid of most colour and is thin...very absorbent! It actually didn't do too badly. It does act as more of a paint type cream but it dried ok. A bit of effort required to get it distributed evenly but after a couple of coats - applied after drying - the couch looks pretty good. Better than it did. I applied the mink oil after everything had dried completely and there's a bit of a sheen to it now. The leather definitely improved but I'm curious to see how it really sticks....or whether it will eventually rub off. Will update if it rubs off! So far it's been worth the money if only for aesthetics!

Worth to try
My couch is ready to be thrown out, tears and scratches everywhere. I purchased this product just for a test to see if I have a chance to take care my other leather chairs in case they are starting to get tearing. But surprisingly, the damaged couch looks and feels good to be used again after I repaired by this magic thing. Well it won’t be a brand new look, but it’s no problem for me to sit down and enjoy my gaming time. Very satisfied.

Old stock - Did not rub in well.
The reviews looked good, but the 'balm' received was not creamy at all. Came out of the jar in a gooey glob. Dried too quick on couch, was unable to rub it in like a balm and left dark streaks. After adding some of my own leather cleaner liquid to it, I was able to make it into a balm, but now struggling to fix the dark streaks left on the couch. Came with a bunch of small tools for finesse work but nothing is finesse-able using a big glob.

Unable to Use
Even though the jar was sealed, the balm was completely dried up when I received it. It was so crumbly it would not even adhere to the sponge. The manufacturer states it has a 3 year shelf life so I am wondering how old this stock was. I am returning for a refund and will never purchase this again.

BEST PRODUCT EVER!
I have a Coach shoulder bag that was very expensive and got ruined by moth damage! I was very upset at the idea that I might never be able to use my bag again. I ordered this leather renew product with the faint hope that I might be able to salvage my bag. I have to say that this might be the very BEST product that I have ever purchased from Amazon! The leather cream arrived today, I smeared it on my bag on the damaged areas and I have to say that it is UNBELIEVABLE! It returned my bag into practically brand new condition! One coat was amazing, it looks brand new! After 12 hours I will recoat, let it dry, buff it up and you would never know that it was ever damaged!
