Babelio 26-40" Pressure Mounted Baby Gate for Stairs, PressGuard Dog Gate

We purchased this gate to contain our Jack Russell Terrier puppy. It was easy to install, looks great, self closes (mostly) and is incredibly well made. It is so great, we purchased two more! Our kids are grown, but old baby gates were wobbly plastic contraptions. This gate is a strong, professional version of those old gates. If this gate is an option for you, don’t hesitate!

We needed a gate for our 43 inch living room stairs to the second floor. With the use of the extensions, the gate is very sturdy and secure. It was easy to install. It will do the job of keeping our toddler grandkids in the main level of our home and unable to climb the stairs! Grandma and grandpap won't have to chase them off the stairs anymore during their visits!

The physical gate is 5 stars however the instructions are only 2 starts hence the lower grade. Gate is made of metal and is strong enough to hold its shape as the tension bolts expand. The latch quality is excellent. When installed properly the gate swings shut and locks. When opened all the way it stays open. Missing notes for installation: The instructions are in the ziplock bag with "SAFETY GATE" in large letters. "User Manual (Guide) is below in a font half the size. The wall cups must be put on the tension bolts first. Place stick pads on but they don't tell you which side has the glue and peel off paper. Apply to the *outside* of each wall cup. The bolts don't screw into the gate, they use the same holes as the extension pieces which require a larger hole. So just push the bolt in, no need to screw them in.. Rotate the center round nut until it press against the gate frame and the other wall pad end against the wall. At this point make sure the gate is square, level, and centered on the wall. If this is not done correctly there is a chance the tension bolts could slide off the wall and the gate will fall down. This manufacture decided to use a ziptie to hold the door latch to gate to frame. If the door is sticking, slowly loosen the top bolts from either side until there is just enough room for the gate to swing shut without touching the gate frame. According to another company this gap is about 2mm. If the the top bolts are loosen too much the gate may not have enough tension to hold on to the wall. By the way that "Metal key" like object is used to help tighten the nuts. It fits into a slot on the outer ring of the nut. This gives more leverage to tighten the bolt. Hope these notes help. Once the gate latch is calibrated, it opens and closes as advertised.

Great product! Easy to install

I purchased two others prior to this one, both of them accommodated a larger/wider width. Had issues with these first two, the bottom latch seemed to be very securely wedged-in, I was unable to force it up and out, I couldn't open the door. In retrospect, I suppose I could have tightened the "support screws" too tightly (compression method/no hardware required), compressing the unit a bit and preventing the door to open. Needless to say, this product, the same company as one of the previous ones I purchased, is very good. Very easy to install, very easy to open the door, we love the stay-open option for when babies are sleeping etc.. there is no "walking plate" on this version, or at least this one did not come with it. One of the larger units I returned had it, so as long as you don't mind the bar on the bottom, this is absolutely excellent, I highly recommend it. Works very well with a staircase railing adjoining a wall on the other side too. Highly recommend.

This didn’t let me add this pic for some reason on my last review!! Hopefully my review went through as it disappeared when I tried retaking the photo again!!! NOT HAPPY!!! **ORIGINAL REVIEW- I've worked OVER 12 HOURS trying to install this new gate!!! It said it was supposed to be a SIMPLE INSTALLATION so I thought I would get it as I have arthritis in my hands, well overnight 12 HOURS LATER it's still NOT installed!! I've tried all different ways to get the bolts in far enough into the gate so it could fit into those little cups, last night I could get two bolts into the cups (on the same side) but I couldn't get the other two on the other side. Then this morning I put on a sticky gripping glove and I finally got one of the bolts on the other side in far enough BUT NOT that last bolt!! It wouldn't go far enough in in order for it to fit into that cup into the doorway but yet all of the other bolts went in enough but yet the gate was STUCK in that doorway which is to my kitchen where my pups are and where my medicine is!! And it says DON'T CUT THOSE TIES TO THE GATE SO I WAS STUCK WITHOUT MY MEDS IN WHICH MY HEART RATE IS EXTREMELY FAST AT 147 bpm which my heart meds is supposed to control but I couldn't get to those meds because the gate was stuck with the three bolts and the one without the sticky cup as it won't fit in there with that cup!! Also I now figure out AFTER ALL OF THIS WORK AND TACHYCARDIA THAT I RECEIVED A BAD BOLT THAT DOESN'T WORK RIGHT (as I tried that same bolt in those other extensions and it didn't work in those either!!) , now I NEED ANOTHER NEW THREADED BOLT AND A COUPLE OF MORE OF THOSE STICKY PADS AS I HAD TO PULL ON THAT ONE SIDE TO GET THE GATE OFF SO I CAN TAKE MY MEDS AND SEE MY PUPS!!!! **A NOTE TO THE COMPANY- PLEASE PUT EXTRA THREADED BOLTS AND STICKY STICKERS IN THE BOX!!!! This was a TOTAL WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY!!! Hopefully the company will send me these! ** NOTE- this was my ORIGINAL REVIEW that somehow DISAPPEARED OFF OF THE AMAZON WEBSITE!!! Perfect gate for wrought iron rail. Keeps my 66 pound boxer from bolting out of family room to greet visitors at the front door! Easy assembly!

I bought this gate to stop my cunning dog from breaking into the kitchen. So far, so good. It's relatively easy to assemble, sturdy and tall enough for a medium sized dog not to jump over it.

Absolutely love this baby gate! It’s not an eyesore at all, which is important since I’ll be looking at it for the next few years until my baby is confident with stairs. No drilling needed and the instructions were very easy to follow. Installation was quick, and the gate feels very sturdy. The grip is amazing and holds securely in place. It gives me real peace of mind. I can be in the kitchen without worrying about my baby climbing the stairs or wandering toward the front of the house unsupervised. Highly recommend for parents who want safety without sacrificing how their home looks!
