Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton Yarn, Yarn for Knitting, Crocheting, and Crafts, Amber, 3 Pack

This is 100% (mercerized) 4/medium worsted cotton. It’s intended to have a different texture and is much more durable than conventional cotton yarn without the loss of a nice feel. The feel and look of a higher quality is obvious once you touch a finished piece. Yes, the yarn feels different than standard yarn. It’s supposed to. It’s processed differently for a reason. This particular yarn is perfect for any project that will be used or handled frequently. It is stronger, doesn’t produce heavy lint, doesn’t get fuzzy or pill up, doesn’t split easily, and is more resistant to mildew. It holds its shape better than regular cotton yarn, and withstands many many washes and tumble dries on a medium heat setting. (Don’t use bleach or fabric softener.) I disagree with the reviews that call it “thread” or dk weight. Not true. Yes, there is a dk version of this brand, but it clearly says dk on the front part of the label. The thickness is comparable of an identical piece stitched with standard cotton yarn. The overall quality and color of yarn is consistent across the board, regardless of where it was purchased from. This stash is ever changing because of the volume of crocheting I do in my spare time. Photo 2: I use a LOT of this yarn to make simple dishcloths/washcloths for charity fundraisers in our local area. They are a hot commodity because of the durability and how they hold their vibrant color for a long time. Definitely better than any store bought dishcloth/washcloth. Honestly, I can’t make them fast enough. If you’re unsure about Lion Brand’s 24/7 cotton yarn or if you’re unfamiliar with mercerized cotton, try a skein. Don’t judge the yarn until you’ve finished the project. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. This is my honest opinion from my personal experience with this product. Used to crochet flowers for my friends. Beautiful color, the center is not tangled when you pull the center strand out, but make sure you use a small hook as it is a thinner yarn. Not really suitable for warm projects, more for cutesy things. High quality yarn, good value, make some pretty projects!

This yarn is absolutely wonderful to work with! I am currently crocheting a tote bag with it and it’s working up beautifully! The color is beautiful, it doesn’t split, and great stitch definition!

Love this yarn. The sheen is so pretty. And its great to crochet with. Colors are nice and vibrant. A little pricey but if on sale, it’s a great deal.

While this yarn isn't bad it's not exactly as advertised. It is definitely a "3" or "DK" as worsted yarn is a 4 (what the label says). It's soft and definitely useable for your cotton needs but probably not what I would use for a potholder or dish cloth. It's significantly overpriced here on Amazon at upwards of 6/skein when Caron All Day Cotton or KnitPicks/We Crochet Dishie is more what you want and better priced for the yardage. This isn't BAD yarn but it doesn't have the value others have.

I absolutely LOVE this yarn! I practiced crochet with off-brand “Easy Peasy” yarn, so I was nervous about working with “real” yarn. To my pleasant surprise, this yarn was a breeze to work with! The yarn is thinner than I anticipated, but that’s not a bad thing. It’s soft, sturdy, beautiful, and doesn’t split. I strongly recommend it! Pictured is a little bag that I made with this wonderful yarn.

I crochet a lot and 24/7 cotton is my go to yarn. It’s great quality and is good for lots of different projects! Love their color choices also.

In short, the yarn itself is easily five stars IF you want a good quality light worsted, 3, DK, etc yarn on the thinner side. But don't get it if its specifically for a project calling for worsted medium weight weight. The three stars is because the yarn isn't close to the weight it claims to be and I wasn't able to use it for my intended project. Upon the yarn arriving it was evident that the skein was indeed smaller that usual despite having a typical 170m length. This wouldn't have been a problem, but the strands were NOTICEABLY thinner than the worsted weight yarn I had been using. Nevertheless, I decided to proceed with my pattern that called for worsted weight yarn and a 3.75 mm crochet hook. Using a 3.5 mm hook I began my pattern, but stopped after finishing the base because, as you can see, the gaps were too big for my amigurumi and the filling would be showing. I show some comparisons with other worsted weight yarn I had been using. I'm not a wraps per inch expert so take that photo however you want. The color of the yarn is nice and what I wanted/expected. It is cotton which is of course a little harder on the hands, but it is easier on the hands and smoother than Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn. I agree that it has a nice sheen, especially for cotton. This skein feels pretty hefty for being so small, and this is indeed reflected in how sturdy it is. I would consider this yarn to be soft and comfortable against even my sensitive skin, but it will produce stiffer projects than other soft yarns due to its sturdiness. This yarn DOES NOT split. Perhaps this is because this yarn is made of four strands twisted around each other firmly with each of the four strands being made of two strands twisted together (for an 8 ply?). So Lion Brand 24/7 cotton is a good yarn, but the labeled weight needs to be taken with several grains of salt.

The cotton is very soft and can use for making a quilt

This cotton yarn is beautiful and comes in all sorts of vibrant colours. It's is very easy to crochet with and is well suited for making all types of market bags. There is no piling after lots of handling. The yarn is not as soft as some other cotton yarns but it depends on what you want to crochet but it is in no way a ' rough . Although this is an ' aran ' weight yarn it does feel a little thinner than other brands but it does remain very suitable for patterns that call for aran / wostered weight cotton. The yarn is strong and doesn't split easily and I have not come across any 'knots،،،" It washes like a dream with no colour loss and the colour doesn't run. I highly recommend this product. It is a little expensive, depending of what you are making but it is really worthwhile

Soft, smooth and doesn't pill or split easily, but is a little expensive for cotton yarn. Also a little thinner than the average worsted-weight yarn.
