Vorsprung durch Technik for Mountain Bikes
Given that our German cars are fitted as standard with Continental tyres and because it is a well respected brand of German rubber products, we didn't hesitate to buy Continental inner tubes for our mountain bikes. We bought this inner tube as a spare for my son's Trek mountain bike for when either of the ones already fitted to it get a puncture. Needless to say, we're still waiting... Highly recommended.

Continental brand not up to scratch. *Update*
I assumed, because of the Continental brand, that this inner would be good quality. It lasted about 500metres into a 40mile ride!Valve leak at connection.Cannot possibly recommend such poor quality.*Update*Upon further inspection, i have noticed a tiny sliver of glass on the join between valve and tyre. It is most likely that I picked this up during my cycle and was just unlucky that it punctured a 'weak' point in the product.I have increased my rating from one to three to reflect this, but I would still have hoped that it would last better than this.

When is a Presta valve not a Presta valve?
To be honest, I have no idea how good a tube this could be because I cannot pump it up. I have three pumps (two Zéfals and a foot pump), all of which have been fine with Schwalbe, Michelin, B-Twin and other tubes but none of them work with the Contis (and I've tried two, just in case). The hand pumps can't build up any pressure and the foot-pump works with an adaptor which turns out to be a very handy tool for removing the valve core, no matter how tightly you put it in. On close inspection, the valves are just not quite the same size as the Presta valves on other tubes. So much for standards.Oh, and my pressure gauge doesn't work with them either, which is hardly important as I can't get anywhere near enough air in them for that to even begin to be an issue.Tubes going in the bin.

Good quality and value replacement inner tube
Purchased this to replace a spare I keep in the garage which has been called in to action following another puncture on my son's mountain bike. I have repaired inner tubes previously with varied success and often it's just easier (and at these prices) good value just to replace the inner tube. As you would expect from a brand like continental it's good quality and well made. My only observation when fitting it was that around the valve is quite firm and I had to use the tyre irons to manipulate the tyre back on to the rim as the firmness of the inner tube at that point (deflated) made space quite tight. Not a problem once I had clipped everything back in place. Overall pleased and will buy again as I am sure I will need to!
