This was for my husband. He works outside a lot in the Florida sun. This hat has fit perfectly, and it protects his ears and neck perfectly.

Bought this to wear in Mombasa, Kenya which is known for its hot humid weather and this was excellent! It’s light weight, dries quickly if wet, takes no space when packing, maintains its shape, doesn’t fly off my head and keeps me well covered from the brutal sun without making my head hot and sweaty! I even wore it in the ocean and it didn’t fly off! As someone else mentioned in their review-it’s the hat you never knew you needed all along. It isn’t flattering looking at all and may draw some hilarious stares but heck it works soooooo well for me:)))) so who cares?

Great hot-weather hat, lightweight, cool, and keeps the sun off your neck. Perfect for dealing with the hotter weather from climate change. This is the coolest hat that I've ever worn, in terms of temperature. Maybe not the coolest looking, unless you think looking like Lawrence of Arabia is cool, LOL. It's also so lightweight that it's great for hiking, mountain climbing, or traveling, because you'll never notice the weight, and you roll it up and stuff it in a bag and it takes up virtually no space. The only potential drawback is that it's so lightweight that in a strong wind, it might blow away unless you tighten the cord to keep it on your head.

I have fair skin and blue eyes and regularly feel like I’m being personally victimized by the sun. I took the plunge and ordered this baby and now I reign victorious over the assault of the sun’s blinding rays. Is it stylish? No. Is it in any way flattering? Also no. Do people look on with shock and envy when you wear this beast out? Sometimes. I have a giant head and this fits with room to spare, plus it could be sized down for all you tiny headed people with the included toggle strap. I leave mine loose and either secure the chin strap in case of high winds, or walk on the wild side, knowing my hat may fall off. It’s lightweight. It’s vented to reduce head sweating. It drys quickly and I usually wear it swimming. The brim is sturdy and reshapes fine after the water. The brim is HUGE all the way around. It deflects the sun’s harmful rays. It performs exactly as one would desire a sun hat to. Buy one. Heck, buy four. You might look like a misplaced explorer, but it’s worth it.

My husband loves this hat! In the past, he's had skin cancer removed from his face. So, he wears it camping, at the beach, at the motorsports raceway, or just hangin' out in the backyard. He wants a second one for working out in the yard and washing the car. He says the brim width and neck cover length are perfect for maximum protection. Although in windy conditions, he said it feels like he has a flag attached to his head. The adjustment cord and chin strap are very comfortable and secure. Lightweight material prevents him from getting too hot under there. I'm deciding which color I want for myself!

Several months ago I was diagnosed with skin cancer on my face. All is well now but now I'm not obsessed with keeping the sun off my face and neck. The only hats I could find were huge big-brimmed straw hats or those hats that landscapers wear when they come to mow your lawn, which might work if I were just sitting on the beach all day or wanted to look like a guy. I wanted something that comfortably cover my face and neck. It also needed to be practical to wear in the garden. I spend at least an hour a day digging in the dirt, pulling weeds, and/or planting veggies, so the hat had to just be an extension of my head. This hat was perfect: a pretty blue, comfortable fit, stays in place even when I am bending over to pull weeds, and keeps its shape. It is washed nearly every day and the brim is still firm. Thinking about buying a second one to keep in the car, so that I can have one when I'm at the nursery picking out plants.

I use this hat as my gardening hat, and I LOVE it. Always keeps the sun out of my face and off my neck, allowing me to put in as many hours as I like without turning into a lobster-man.
