A JRPG to get hooked on
After finishing the original .hack series, I quickly logged into my eBay account and purchased the then US only .hack//G.U. series along with an NTSC PS2. Back then, I wasn't particularly enamoured (possibly because I'd just spent over £150 on the set) but a good ten years later here we are at the PS4 remaster, spinning in my disc tray.Maybe it's the memories, but this is a better game now than it was back then. It's ridiculously simple in execution, a basic, simulated MMO that probably wouldn't get a second glance if it actually were an MMO. The game looks simple, and plays simpler. But really, that's a good thing. It allows you to enjoy the frequent, and excellent story updates, and eases you quickly into The World (pun intended, I suppose). This disc includes the whole G.U. Series, plus an additional fourth chapter, and various extras and unlockables. Gameplay is easy to understand, and the way you locate play areas let's you determine how much you want to grind versus advance the story.Back on my PS2, I put hundreds of hours into this series over the 7 games. While I spent more time on the first saga back then, this remaster gives me the opportunity to do the same for the series I perhaps didn't give the right amount of time to. At under £30, this is an absolute steal. 50hrs minimum if you get into it, probably double if you really enjoy it. I can only hope that Bandai Namco do the same for the original saga at some point in the near future.

So much nostalgia on a single disc
I won’t be long winded here. I was a huge fan of the original 4 games on the ps2 (shamefully sold them for a few quid only to realise a few years later they are worth HUNDREDS) they were unique, had a good cast of characters and were totally engrossing. This plays pretty much the same but ramped up to 30 everything is smooth, gorgeous and improved on and the combat is fairly old school reminding me of alundra and things like that. All in all if you like the anime’s or mangas of .hack you’ll enjoy this. If you enjoy sword are online you’ll LOVE this

Amazing game. Lots of hours game play
So far played as much time as it took to complete Mario odyssey and I am still on the first game. the story is interesting though if you plan on playing this, i would highly recommend watching .hack//roots. .hack//Roots - Anime Legends [DVD] [2006 ]Tried playing through the original .hack games when i heard about the release of this, but struggled with the graphics. Though with all the improvements the only problem I have now is putting the controller down.Glad they finally brought this game to the uk, as wanted the games originally but wasn't going to import the copy'sAlso glad they didn't bring this out for the VR. Though would make an amazing game to play with VR also based on the story. .hack//Roots - Anime Legends [DVD] [2006
