what is the minimum width of the open space under the stand (between where the pads touch the table top)?

My stand measures 10-5/8" from the point of edge of pad on each side. I don't know how these are made, so there may be variations. It all depends on your use of the stand. Good luck.

About 2 1/4 inches from the top of the foot to the underside, about 2 1/2 inches from the underside to the surface of the table.
