It's a YUASA
I've been a mechanic for going on 38 years in the automotive, motorcycle & marine industry.Yuasa batteries are simply built to stand the test of time, I've got one in a Kubota tractor that's 7 years old & still cranking that high compression diesel motor. After receiving this particular series, it's looks like Yuasa skimped a little bit on the terminal/connections but they seem to be solid enough when the cables are tightened down. This is NOT an AGM battery, it is a totally maintenance free unit that's very easy to fill with the electrolyte acid that comes nicely shipped inside the box.Just make SURE to charge this battery as instructed before putting it into service & lessen the chance of any foreseeable problems. The CCA rating is 5 amps less than the original Harley branded 205 CCA that came stock in my bike but it doesn't hesitate to start when the button is pushed. Take my word for it, you don't want to be push starting a Harley or any bike with 10:1 compression pistons because the battery couldn't make it happen for you !This battery starts the bike as intended. The price is right ... but only time will tell the real story if this was a good buy or not. With Yuasa's previous history.... I'm betting it is.

Perfect for my Sportster, easier than I expected
I bought this battery as a replacement for my 2009 Harley Sportster Custom. I understood the advantages of adding the chemicals myself but I was a little nervous about it. There was no need. The instructions are very clear and there are videos of Youtube of the exact process. It is basically idiot proof and easy. Once the electrolytes were in I followed the instructions regarding charging with my battery tender and it took a full charge very quickly. It fit perfectly. I read some concerns about the length of the negative cable on Sportsters but mine was fine, maybe a little snug but not a problem in any way. I've had it for several months of a fairly cold winter and it is holding its charge great, even when I forget to hook up the tender. All in all a great battery and an excellent deal, especially compared to the ridiculous price the Harley place down the street wanted to install one of their batteries for me. I ended up spending about half what it would have been for them to do it.Highly recommend.

Good battery, good price.
Overall a good battery and good price. The only downside is you have to fill it with sulfuric acid (included with the battery) and charge it for about 10 hours. The price you pay for the inconvenience but you’re paying a lot less than a fully charged one. Hence the 4 stars.

Juny low quality batteries, had 2 fail on me.
My mt07 came with one of these from the factory, last ed about 2 years before the battery won't even hold a charge overnight, bolt this battery, and exact replacement in 3 months later the bike won't hold charge overnight, couldn't find any issue like a shorted wire or bad connection, put a Noco a battery in maybe 6 months ago and it's been working fine now.

So far soo good
Seems like a good battery. Payed close attention to the instructions and followed them exactly. If it sits in your bike at an angle getting the + and - terminal bolts to thread can be a pain, I used some shop towels and plastic tools to hold the threaded insert in place till i got the bolts started.

Good Battery Good Price
This is a high quality battery at a good price and shipped in a timely manner. This has nothing to do with the quality of this battery but the 2005 HD Sportster has a less than optimal battery installation. The negative cable is too short to allow you to easily disconnect the negative cable from the battery.HD recommends removing the negative cable at the ground stud which is quite difficult to get to since it's buried under hoses, tubes and wires. You can slide the battery out and barely access the negative terminal and if you are careful remove the screw that holds the negative cable to the battery and tighten it back up when you install the new battery. The problem is if you don't make sure the negative cable is tight (and remains tight) you will melt the battery terminal when you try to start the bike. That's why I bought a second battery. This is a battery that you fill with electrolyte (included) and then put on a trickle charger for a few hours or overnight. Once it's fully charged you seal the battery with the included strip and don't have to worry about ever adding water.

It is NOT a 'clone'
My 07 1200c Sportster's factory battery and this one are NOT exactly the same, though the same SIZE. The positive and negative cables attach to each battery differently. This one has 2 'posts' to attach your cables, requiring the provided nuts, washers and bolts. The original battery only requires 2 bolts that screw the negative and positive cables DIRECTLY to the battery. Here is the important part: The new battery provides 4 bolts (2 long & 2 short) and you choose which 2 to attach your cables to the posts with. The PROBLEM is the 2 short are too short and the 2 long are too long. -->> but the original Harley battery bolts are perfect. That said the new battery's configuration is BETTER than the original because over tightening the new battery bolts won't pull the lead posts out of the plastic coated battery. Yes. I did this..I give it 5 stars because the story has a happy ending. Both batteries weigh about the same and seem of high quality. I know the cables are attached to the posts better and this battery is 1/2 price the original. Just don't lose the original bolts...
