Zoo MedCoral Sun Actinic 420 Coral Bulb T8 15 Watts, 18-Inch

Switched my regular white bulb to this one the day I got it. It is so cool looking! We have some fluorescent jellyfish (fake) and several Glo-Fish (real) in our tank and this light really makes them glow! Of course, only time will tell how long it lasts, but my regular bulbs last for several years, so I'm hoping this one does too. I've included a photo of the tank with the light on. We leave it on all day until bed time since it's actually good for the fish because it recreates light conditions found in deep water. If you have coral and/or live plants (I don't), I believe this bulb is supposed to be great for that too.I really wish they made a dual bulb that could change from standard (for day time) to actinic (evening). That would be cool but impossible I guess. To do that now, I'd have to change the bulb twice each day which would be silly.

arrived on time in a safe package works as stated, nice actinic light Not as intense as an LED and that is a good thing for small thanks or some skittish fish. I have several Damsels that were used to this kind of light and when I put an LED actinic above them they hid under a ledge. However, not to bash LED lights fish that grew up with them are fine. But back to this light, works as stated, corals thrive under it, fisheys are fine with it.

Very, very purple but it is great for a light to run at night, it actually kinda looks like moonlight. I see some people giving it bad reviews saying its too purple or dark.......did you not read the description?!? You should know that its going to be that way!!! JUST READ!!!!

if you own i fixture for these bulbs, then you know they just aren't that bright. so don't expect these to make your hard corals to grow. it's not the bulb, you just need more power, or a t5.

If I could give no stars I would. Did not fit and tried to return. I waited I've 2 weeks for this to be picked up by UPS. And every time I tried again it refused to let me send request. Now it says over 30 days no return. I never used this being it would not fit my fixture. I have spent lots of money and purchased to many items to get refused. I will look for products on other sights before I have to purchase in the future.

My tank looks AMAZING!!!! I have had my tank for over ten years but recently just for decoration purpose changed to these bulbs. I am in love with my tank now...and at night breath taking...price was good and I love shopping off amazon always find deals!!!!
