Wake of Death U.K uncut Blu-Ray by Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment.
Revenge was all he had left! This film is the first time it has been released on Blu-ray in The U.K. All other releases on here are from other countries. The good news (if you can call it that) is it’s the uncut version. (But it’s very violent-certificate 18)It’s run time is nearly 91 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes and 23 seconds.) I compared it with Movie Censorship on line and The German Black Edition (uncut) Blu-Ray (which I own) released by Splendid Film and It’s definitely uncut. The German version runs 10 seconds longer for some reason but they are both the same.Main menu which has music and moving images from the film has Play, Scenes (12) and Making of to select. This edition comes with the 10 minute and 30 second making of and a good quality A3 poster. Apparently it is Limited at only 3000. No where on the box (on the back says it’s 90 minutes long) apart from the run time does it state uncut. The picture quality is the same as German one. Very gritty, almost looks like a dvd upscale but has amazing details on the close ups especially in the faces where you can see all the pores and wrinkles on actors faces. It’s not a very colourful film but I guess that was the way it was filmed.Comes with a 5.1 DTS HD MA English soundtrack. No subtitles. Aspect ratio is 1.78:1. In 1080P. Maximum of 37 Mbps. All in all happy to own this as I’m a fan. I think this is 4 star effort out of 5 for JCVD and one of his best movies since his bigger budget efforts.Although it’s not saying much (lack of extras-subtitles) this is definitely the definitive release of this film! I will be keeping my cut dvd though and putting that inside with this as it has subs.If your a fan of this film, it’s the best version to own.

Van Damme's the man in Wake of Death.
Van Damme's the man in Wake of Death. This Special Edition Blu-ray from @UKKaleidoscope is limited to 3,000 and comes with an exclusive A3 poster.Wake of Death is a 2004 gritty revenge thriller Directed Philippe Martinez and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Ben's (Van Damme) wife (Lisa King) is brutally murdered and their son disappears without a trace, he must join forces once again with his old underworld friends and embark on a bloody vendetta to punish who is responsible.Jean-Claude Van Damme is on top foam in this very entertaining revenge thriller, giving an excellent performance and with great Action. Definitely add this one to your muscles from Brussels collection. It's nice we finally get a UK release of Wake of Death but please don't call it a Special Edition? Yeah the poster is nice and thick and the PQ (picture quality) looks get. The only special feature on the disc is the original Making of Featurette, that's it!

Wake Of Death UK Blu Ray review
It's always nice to have more JCVD on blu ray but Wake Of Death has delusions of grandeur. Its po faced, overly serious and thinks it's high art. Van Damme gives a solid performance though and it is perfectly watchable. No subtitles and no audio options other than English 5.1. Solid transfer and fine sound. No slipcover but includes a nicely printed poster. The only bonus feature is 10 minute making of clearly ripped from a VHS.Limited to 3000...apparently.
