Long term review
I won't bother going over the features of this unit since they are well listed and documented in other reviews.I have purchased 5 of these for different bikes over the last 3 years. All of them are still working perfectly. All together, I have around 8500 cumulative miles on them - mostly harder off road and with some on road training miles mixed in. I have crashed numerous times and they have not been damaged. They have been rained on, sprayed with the hose, exposed to mud and sand, got caught on shrubbery, and exposed to countless hours of sunlight. I have zero complaints about their durability. I did lose the circular plastic thumb tightener that secures it to your bars or stem but that only happened once and now i check their tightness frequently and they are always tight. When I got the first one, I measured it's accuracy with known distance markers and gps (on straight pavement) and found it to be extremely accurate - as long as you set the wheel size correctly. Later on, with a different bike and same model computer, a 50 mile off road race was physically measured using a measuring wheel (not by gps or computer which will always be less than accurate off road). The Cateye read 50.10 miles at the finish and I took a wrong turn at one point that probably accounted for most of the extra 1/10 mile. It just doesn't get more accurate than that. My gps measured 5 miles shorter (normal variable for all gps off road in the woods) in the same race. I trust my Cateye for the real mileage and mph average over my gps.I dinged a star due to the fact that although the batteries last a long time (8 months or so when used several times a week), when you have to change them in the head unit, it resets the odometer. A running mileage tally on each bike would be nice to help keep track of service intervals for parts. So if you want to keep the total, you have to write it down each time. All of the settings (wheel size, time, etc) must be reset after a battery change in the head unit (this is the same for most computers), but it only takes a couple minutes. The speed sensor uses up batteries slower than the head unit and will usually last longer than a year.I only want basic functions and don't care about cadence sensors or a computer that syncs with a heart rate monitor (my cell phone does that if I want it) so this model has been excellent for my needs. When I need another, I'll buy this one again.

Buyer beware! Works great until it resets by itself and you lose all of your data.
I'll Start by saying I don't usually write reviews. The exception is when I think the feedback is more valuable than to just say its great or it stinks. I read dozens of reviews on this computer before buying and overall it got good reviews, but there were some complaints about it resetting on its own. I disregarded the complaints as flukes, but should not have. I ordered one of these for myself and one for my daughter for a week long bike ride we were taking covering 400 plus miles over 7 days. The unit my daughter had reset itself almost everyday and sometimes more than once during the day. The one on my bike reset itself once during the entire week. These resets occurred while riding and while the bikes were parked with nobody to touch them so I know that it was not user error. All of the daily stats are what resets. The only stat unaffected was the total mileage on the unit which measures all your miles from the time that you strap it on your bike. I think the only time this resets is when you change the batteries, it can't be manually reset. Anyway beware, chances are you are going to lose data using this computer. It was disappointing especially on my daughters bike as we were trying to keep track of the miles she rode daily and over the week since she did not ride the entire route because of her age. Each reset wiped out any hope of keeping track of that. Once the mileage resets you also lose all of your average speed data. Time riding resets and so does max speed. You lose it all. If this kind of thing is valuable to you don't buy this computer. On the positive side it was easy to install, seemed accurate based on comparisons to other bike computers in our group for distance and speed, it was easy to use while riding, and easy to understand its functions, it looked nice, and was easy to read while riding, and the wireless function worked well. All in all a nice unit, but one I would not recommend or buy again because of its main flaw, the resetting problem and loss of data. I think CatEye has a problem it needs to address. Hope this helps you make an informed decision.

I own two other CatEye computers both wired and like them but this one's bracket to hold it to the handlebar is really bad. Every time you try to change the mode settings it pushes out of its holder, it will be just a matter of time till it drops off and gets run over while i'm riding. The wired units have different holders but if this is supposed to be new and improved it is NOT! I suspect the fault lies in it's being wireless and to communicate with the sending unit it needs to have more open area unfortunately it makes the unit useless.

It works, Easy to reset.
Been a user for about 2 months. I am a moderately recreational road biker only. Don't race, mostly ride alone, don't particularly train, but I do like to go fast and far. Came from a Bontrager wireless computer that was such a pain in the a$$ to reset after a trip I hated using it. Did my research, this is about as simple high tech as you can get before you step up into the heart rate monitoring kind. It does all the functions you really care about, even some that I haven't tested yet. Installation is pretty painless, if not as intuitive as I needed. Took all of 10 minutes. Buttons are easy, LCD readable. No glare. I would buy this again. It could be slightly bigger, but that's the next level.
