how long is the band?

8 inches long . I measured with ruler from one end to another, the whole watch.. The band with holes 4 inches, with buckle 2 1/2 inches.

Will it be good for 7 year old ?

I cannot perfectly answer this question, since (just out of habit as a precaution) I am purposefully careful not to get it wet. But it does get slightly splashed at times and is completely fine. I have a friend who also has a Casio watch, and (it's a different style, but it's still stated as "waterproof" like mine is), it has really held up even though he is constantly getting it soaked. So far it has been a very durable and comfortable watch. I really like how the wristband is NOT leather so it doesn't get effected by water. It is definitely the best watch I've owned, and I would highly recommend it.
