Capri Tools 1/4" Double Flaring Tool

Good flaring tool especially for tight places but works great at the bench also. Easy to use.

Prep the tubing correctly and follow the directions and it works great. Tested several double flares on NiCop 1/4" tubing and it produced very good results. Have not tried on non-stainless steel yet, but will update review when I get a chance to test that. Would recommend for NiCop tubing.

This product is very easy to use and works great!! It has a stop for the lines you are flaring so makes it very easy to line up the tubing. It is really affordable compared to other brands too.

The Capri Tools ¼” Double Flaring Tool makes a perfect flare every time on ¼” Nickel Copper brake lines! I am upgrading a classic car from drum brakes to disc brakes and needed to build several new brake lines with double flare fittings. I initially borrowed a brake line flaring tool from AutoZone which resulted in every single flare joint leaking brake fluid. I then borrowed another brake line flaring tool from a mechanic friend of mine with the same results. The issue with cheap brake line flaring tools is the variabilities in the flaring process which can result in a poor double flare joint. The Capri Tool eliminates all these variabilities by securely capturing the end of the brake line in the tool so there is no movement in/out, up/down, or left/right. Side 1 of the reversible die makes a perfect single flare, while side 2 creates the double flare. There is no variability in the process because the die has positive stops on each end. I could not be more pleased with this tool. I put my car back together and there is not a single leak (from the brake lines anyway 😊).

Do not waste your money on the bar clamp style flaring tool, it is meant to do single flares. This tool by capri works excellent. It is the same exact head as the titan tool just a different name. High quality. Works great on steel line. Produces factory double flares on copper nickel and on steel line. Good line preparation with a flat file to remove the rolled in edge on the end from the tubing cutter wheel and then hit the inside with a chamfer tool or a drill bit larger than the line to break the burr and leave a clean edge for the tool to make a real nice double flare.

After trying to use a cheapo kit, and a cal-van hydrulic in-line kit, both of which were nearly useless, This one helped me in a bind. I replaced some lines and ended up using a friends tool truck kit to do them. But had a couple still on vehicle I needed to redo. This worked well and was easy to use/hard to mess up. I used on Nickel copper, but I believe this may do regular steel without much trouble. Although doing steel on the vehicle might be a challange. The handle could stand to be a little longer/bigger and maybe have a lock button to keep it from twisting loose when tightening/loosening the die. Other than that it was an excellent tool and Im happy to keep and use this again! I do wish they offerd it in a full kit with a deburring and cutting tool, case, and multiple heads. For 1/4" lines, give it a shot. And you can remove handle and put it into a vice for even easier work when doing new lines iff vehicle.

Works good! I messed up a few when I first got going. Follow directions is important!

these are nice. the hydraulic ones work but this is small and easy to use in tight spaced.

Title says it all. Feels like quality too. I'd buy this over the cheap red double flaring tool kit any day of the week. This WORKS and makes beautiful flare. You can easily work underneath your vehicule or anywere really its so small

Works well if you over tighten the 1/4" pipe so it will not move when flaring

It actually made a decent double flare, not quite perfect like the hydraulic tool does but pretty darn close! Don't be shy with the lube! Crank It down tight! Here's two pictures to compare. The first picture is a hydraulic tool flare and the second one is from this tool. TIP: if you're not getting a great flare on your OEM brake line, it's probably because the tool is slipping as your factory brake line is probably slightly smaller than a new one. Just put a piece of paper on the brake line before you clamp the tool on and it will not slip and you will get a perfect flare.

Absolute game changer, my only regret is not buying it sooner. The removable handle is nice for getting access to tight spots against a truck frame rail.
