Great for decking and garden furniture
Great outdoor protection. Ronseal do a garden paint and decking paint in the same colours. I’ve used both for different projects. The garden paint didn’t last long on my garden furniture, but the decking paint is much more durable and worth the extra money.

Lovely, but not quiet the colour i expected
First the cons: 1 tin says it covers 26 m² (13 m² per litre), my decking is 20 m² and I have used almost 2 tins. It also says it comes with a stirring stick, which I did not receive and the colour that is on the label ‘warm stone’, is not the colour it dries at, more of a light grey with a hint of salmon. It is very light so I am concerned it will get really dirty in winter. Now the pros. I cleaned and jet washed the decking first, then I applied the paint thinly as others have advised (with a £3.50 soft broom that I bought at B&Ms) it was so easy to apply and went on beautifully, I didn’t really need two coats, but applied a second one lightly with a roller anyway. Considering my decking looked absolutely terrible before, it looks absolutely amazing even after one coat. The colour is not too bad, it will grow on me, but I would have preferred warm stone/light Beige as per the picture on the tin.

Peeled off in 1 year. Only consider using deck rescue.
I have used deck rescue and ultimate deck paint. Deck rescue is much better. The listing of this product is confusing. I thought I had bough deck rescue as I had tried and tested it. However, the main heading says ultimate paint and the description heading says deck rescue. It was the ultimate paint that arrived, and I didn't notice. The paint is useless. It looks beautiful when first applied, but one year later it looked awful in the places where it had peeled. I had applied two coats after a thorough cleaning using a power washer and then deck brush. It has taken 20 hours of power washing to remove the paint as it adhered well in the edges where no water lies, the sun rarely gets too and no one walks on. I’m about to apply oil…if we ever get a dry spell of weather this summer.
