I would say yes they held the water and didn't leak for me

Sunflowers have slightly larger stems so you may have a harder time pushing them in.

The .7" would be with the cap on as the opening width is .4"

how much liquid do these hold?

Maybe 1 tbsp if you allow room for a stem. They are okay for a day or so of keeping stems fresh. Otherwise you'll need something that holds more water.

These work perfectly.Much to my amazement I canuse for thick stems or thin stems. No leakage.I’m ordering more. Would also like some that are slightly longer so they hold even more water. But these are great.

Very good.

Very nice single bud ampules. I use these with weed killer in them and simply take the end of a weed's branch (with the tip cut off) and leave it to absorb the poison. This is a very effective way to kill weeds with persistent roots. And, doing it this way means no worry of weed killer overspray on desirable plants in my landscape. Great product.
