Model Shipways Rattlesnake Us Privateer Model Ship Kit -1:64 Scale

In the past I have assembled and have on display in my house 12 plastic sailing ships of different sizes. I was hoping to graduate to building wood ships but after looking at what is required skill wise forget it. This model is not for beginners or one with no wood working skills. I bought this model expecting to assemble it not make/fashion parts out of wood without L-W-H(counter block). Instructions that are incomplete/vague. Having to go from instruction manual to drawing sheet to find parts. This model requires more than assembly, it requires skills in making, shaping and tapering of many of the hull to the masts. I have some skills working with wood but nothing at the level required on this model. The canon has the barrel, 2 side, 1 bottom, 4 wheels. and no instructions on assembly. I have spent more time searching through the instructions and drawings trying to find drawings or pictures on how to do something than what it is worth. I warn anyone thinking about trying to build one of these stop, go on line and an APP that will show you what is involved skill wise. I think this one is goin on the scrap heap.

This is the third boat that I have built from model shipways. Their kits are not only fun to build, but a challenge as well. My last two ship builds came out great. Something to be proud of to display in my home.

Shipping was quick but model was not shipped in any thing luckily it did not get wet or wood have been a total loss

Missing parts. Had to return.Make sure you check the parts list and all the wood.

I have started to build this kit. The laser cut pcs are burnt very badly. The forward section of the center frame does not match the drawings. The 30 return period is past however, all I would like is to get replacement parts that are not burnt and fit the drawings. .In view of this, I would suggest anyone ordering these kits, check them out to see the condition of the laser cut parts.
