Never had a bug zapper that worked so well. Got one by front and back door. Love that it’s light activated so I don’t have to worry about turning it off and on every day.

I like the product so far. Only been using a few days but when it zaps it destroys the bugs. It’s easy to use and clean and pretty quiet when it zaps.

I ordered a few houseplants in the Spring from some online growers. Two came with stowaways: there were fungus gnats in the soil. I used Bacillus Thuringiensis Subspecies Isrealensis granules, and watered with a hydrogen peroxide solution, but these methods weren't 100% effective, and they don't do anything to the adults. I had a plague in my home. So, I had the extra money, and decided to take a gamble on one of these zappers. I searched through many, and chose this one because it had the longest power cord, and had a number of positive reviews. I am amazed at how well it works. Observations: 1. I thought I'd hang it and wanted the longest cord possible. I didn't do that, and just have it sitting on a table, and I guess I could have gotten an extension cord. Still, I like that it gave me some options out of the box. 2. It really lights up a dark area, but when you look directly at it, it doesn't seem especially bright. It actually seemed a bit dim to me, and I was worried it might not be effective because the full-sized zappers I've seen have been brighter. This doesn't seem to be an issue, and it attracts the vermin fine. 3. You know when it zaps something. It isn't deafening, but there's certainly a "crack" to let you know you got your money's worth. I like hearing it: it validates my decision to buy it. 4. The bugs don't all just drop down into the cup. This device is 4000 volts. The victims are so tiny that a number of them are flung away and end up on the table around it. They're easy enough to wipe up though. 5. It doesn't feel especially high quality or durable. It feels to me like the kind of cheap plastic that could crack if you drop it or it falls. I'm very happy with it's performance, and definitely recommend it.

Works great, no problems

This brand new bug zapper won't even turn on. No power, nothing, it's just DOA. The quality is horrible. There is an Amazon product support page to "trouble shoot" (you know, "turn it off and back on again" and "replace the light bulb"), but nothing there is helpful. (And obviously they've had this problem before!) If you do buy this zapper, be sure to test it before the 30 day return window closes, and definitely before gifting it to anyone!! We bought it May 17th, gifted it for Father's Day in June, just plugged it in last night (a whole 32 days later), and now this morning, June 20th, I am writing this review. I've already reached out to the seller, so will update this review as appropriate. So far, it's been $38.95 wasted and we still need to find another bug zapper. Sadly this one will be added to a land fill somewhere... :(

I was skeptical about the effectiveness of this model because of it's compact size compared to my old 'pyramid style' that gave up the ghost after 20+ years. I pulled the trigger and bought one Spring of 2023 and ran it all summer. It surprised me and performed exceptionally well. I required cleaning and 'carcass removal' quite frequently compared to the old style with extra attention required to clean the zapper bars that were prone to bridging from cooked on recently departed pests. Other than that it worked extremely well. The dusk-to-dawn sensor never hiccuped and worked as designed. I took it down for the season that Fall (I live in SE Wisconsin), cleaned it, and stored it in a dry shed. This Spring (2024) I hung it back up for the season and...no joy. The blacklight works just fine but it no longer zaps. It's nothing more than the illusion of a bug zapper now. The spiders loved it though because it attracted easy meals, but they couldn't eat fast enough to make up for no zappy's. So, back in the shed it went, where it resides to this day and will probably be there until I'm over my disappointment and it gets tossed in recycling. I hope I only got a dud because I'd like to throw the dart and get another one. Seeing as I'm known for being the world's worst and unluckiest consumer (don't ever order the same meal as I do in a restaurant!) it wouldn't surprise me if 99.9% of them live a long and productive life.

It is doing a really good job to controlling the little gnats that like my potting shed.

I am so happy that after reading so many reviews about other mosquito zappers and painfully going through so many different kinds online I decided this should be the best AND INDEED IT IS THE BEST! IT WORKED IMMEDIATELY I TURNED IT ON RIGHT FROM DAYTIME THROUGH THE NIGHT TILL MORNING AND NON STOP TILL NOW DOING WHAT IT KNOWS HOW TO DO BEST WHICH IS ATTRACTING AND KILLING EVERY DAMN FLYING INSECTS. The cord is long enough , perfect size and weight to carry about easily with the handle and position it wherever these insects are hiding and wiping them off effectively.
